Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO met in 2015 and tied the knot the next year.
Jelly Roll's wife, Bunnie XO, is giving fans a look into her first encounter with the singer. The couple met at the Las Vegas Country Saloon in 2015 when he was opening for the Moonshine Bandits.
"I was like, 'What is this? What is this man? This big southern boy,'" Bunnie XO recalled on this week's episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast.
Noting that the venue and crowd at the show were small, Bunnie XO added, "J wasn't, nobody even knew who he was. He was opening for the Moonshine Bandits. He might have had a little pop in Nashville, but people on the West Coast didn't know who he was. We were there for the Moonshine Bandits."
The pair got engaged in 2016 and decided to tie the knot the same day at a chapel in Las Vegas. Jelly Roll credited Bunnie XO as "a beacon of change in my life" in a 2023 interview with Billboard.
Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, broke out onto the country music scene a few years ago. On her podcast, Bunnie XO said that the country music community has "been so welcoming and nonjudgmental."
For her part, Bunnie XO has built her own brand, but got her start in sex work. She officially shut down her sex work website in 2023, but shared that her husband played no factor in that decision.
"A lot of ppl seem to be confused as to how I just retired from SW last year because I've been married for 7 years lol.. so here's the answer. I'm an open book & don't mind letting y’all kno.." she wrote on Facebook at the time. "I have always worked & made money on my own, when I married J I refused to give up my independence & rely solely on him."
"And to be honest he never once asked me to," she continued. "He knew how important it was to me to make my own money. But he did always say, 'One day baby you won’t have to do this anymore.'"
However, when it comes to their sex life, Bunnie XO said on her podcast that her husband isn't particularly adventurous.
"My husband is so vanilla. He doesn't like any of that s**t. He's like, 'Just ride me and get off. Give me a b**w job, ride me, and get off,'" she said laughing. "We are so busy. Really the last thing we think about is sex."
As for what puts them in the mood, Bunnie XO noted, "Our thing is we love crawling into bed and watching a TV show together. We don't get to do that, especially during tour. So whenever we can have a normal sit-down and watch a show, that's like foreplay for us."
The couple share Jelly Roll's kids from past relationships, daughter Bailee Ann, 16, and Noah Buddy, 7, and last month he opened up about trying to expand their family. Watch the clip below for more on Bunnie XO's IVF journey.
