The Talk has reportedly found Sara Gilbert's replacement.
TMZ reports that 59-year-old Marie Osmond is joining the daytime CBS talk show after Gilbert announced in April that she was leaving the show after nine years. Osmond has previously been a guest host on the show, and according to the outlet, the ratings spiked during her appearance. TMZ reports that Osmond has already signed on for the high-profile television gig, and the official announcement will happen during next Tuesday's episode of The Talk.
With her new gig, Osmond will definitely be busy. She and her brother, Donny, still have a residency at the Flamingo hotel in Las Vegas, which ends on Nov. 16. According to the report, Osmond plans to fly back and forth from Los Angeles to Vegas in order to do both.
ET has reached out to Osmond.
ET spoke to both Osmond and her brother in March, and Donny addressed the possibility of working in daytime TV again. The two had a talk show, Donny & Marie, which aired from 1997-2000.
"Yeah, well, you know, we're open for anything at this point," he said. "We do want to fulfill our own little projects that we've got going."
Osmond also said she had lots of projects on her plate.
"I have some things right now that I'm excited about," she said. "I have a movie that I'm working on in August, and another one after that, and some television things, and so yeah, time and it's time sensitive. You can't do those things you know ... I may be that little old lady who on Broadway that comes out and does the funny role but right now .... I've got an album that I'm working on and it's time sensitive, while your voices are still in shape and you're doing things."
ET spoke to the two again last month to talk about the end of their successful Vegas residency after 11 years.
"There’s so many projects we want to do individually," Donny noted. "She’s got her career, I've got my career… We had no idea it would be 11 years. We started out as a six-week contract and here we are 11 years later."
Donny also joked about a milestone for his sister coming just one month prior to their last show -- her 60th birthday.
"She’s going to be 60," Donny, who’s 61, kidded his sister. "60, people. 60. She’s 60."
