Both series will go into production later this year.
Hulu is adding two new series to its slate.
Reprisal, led by Timeless' Abigail Spencer, and The Great, starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult, have been greenlit to series, the streaming service announced Monday at the Television Critics Association press tour.
Reprisal is described as a "hyper-kinetic revenge tale" centered on a relentless femme fatale (Spencer) who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gear heads. The series also stars Rodrigo Santoro, Mena Massoud, Madison Davenport, Rhys Wakefield, David Dastmalchian, W. Earl Brown and Gilbert Owuor.
The Great is being billed as a "genre bending, anti-historical ride through 18th century Russia following the wildly comic rise of Catherine the Nothing to Catherine the Great." The limited series reunites Fanning, who stars as Catherine, and Hoult; the pair previously co-starred in the 2014 film, Young Ones. Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge and Sacha Dhawan also star. Fanning also is an executive producer.
Both series go into production later this year, with Reprisal set for a 2019 debut and The Great being eyed for a 2020 launch.
They are just the latest series joining the Hulu family, which will premiere the upcoming scripted offerings, including Veronica Mars revival, Mindy Kaling's Four Weddings and a Funeral, the '90s-set Wu-Tang Klan project and Little Fires Everywhere with Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.
