Hugh Grant Shares an Intimate Embrace With Renée Zellweger While Filming 'Bridget Jones 4'

Hugh Grant and Renée Zellweger are returning to the 'Bridget Jones' franchise.

Bridget Jones and Daniel Cleaver are together again! On July 4, Renée Zellweger and Hugh Grant were photographed filming Mad About the Boy, the upcoming fourth film in the Bridget Jones franchise, and they looked as cozy as can be.

In the sweet photo, which was taken in Hampstead, London, Grant, wearing a blue suit and driving a red vintage Mercedes sports car, kisses Zellweger on the cheek as he cradles her head. Zellweger sports a gray cardigan and green skirt in the photo.

Back in April, the franchise's fourth film was confirmed. Directed by Michael Morris and based on Helen Fielding's 2013 novel, Mad About a Boy will pick up where Bridget Jones's Baby left off in 2016.

At the start of the franchise's third movie, Grant's Daniel Cleaver was presumed to have died from a plane crash. However, at the end of the film, a newspaper headline revealed he had been found alive, explaining Grant's return for the fourth installment.

Emma Thompson, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Leo Woodall are also set to appear in Mad About the Boy.

ET spoke to Grant following the exciting news, and he gushed over the script for the highly-anticipated movie, which will follow Bridget as she navigates single parenthood after the tragic death of her husband, played by Colin Firth in the last three films.

"I'll tell you what, I think this script for the fourth Bridget is the best one of the four," Grant said. "And, in fact, one of the best scripts I have read for in a long time."

"It's based on trying to bring up two children alone, and then [it's] all mixed up in the Bridget Jones [style] comedy, so its very sad, as well as very funny," he added. "It has me in tears."

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy will debut in movie theaters and on Peacock Feb. 14, 2025.
