The annual cycling race held primarily in France is back for the 111th Edition.

Hundreds of professional cyclists are making their way to Italy to begin the first stage of the Tour de France.

This year, 22 pro cycling teams will participate in the Tour de France which spans over 2,100 miles in 23 days, including two built-in rest days. On Saturday, June 29, the athletes will line up at the starting line in Florence, Italy. During the multi-stage race, the competitors will ride through multiple cities and different terrains. You don't need to be in Europe to catch the action because the race will stream live on Peacock.

One of this year's top contenders to win the Tour de France is Danish rider, Jonas Vingegaard, who won the 2023 Tour de France. Ranked after Vingegaard are Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia and Adam Yates of Britain who both are on the UAE Team Emirates. In general rankings, the top contender from the United States — ranked #12 overall — is Sepp Kuss from Colorado.

When is the 2024 Tour de France?

The 2024 Tour de France begins on Saturday, June 29 in Florence, Italy and finishes on Sunday, July 21, 2024, in Nice, France. Due to the Summer Olympics, this is the first time the race will not end in Paris.
