Can Percy Jackson, with the help of his friends, prevent an epic battle between the Olympian gods? Find out when the series premieres on Disney+.
Author Riordan has previously expressed his unhappiness with the 2010 adaptation of his novels. In 2020, in a now-deleted tweet, Riordan said about the first films, "To you guys, it's a couple hours entertainment. To me, it's my life's work going through a meat grinder when I pleaded with them not to do it. So yeah. But it's fine. All fine. We're gonna fix it soon..." he said about the upcoming Disney+ remake.
This time around, Riordan is closely involved with the series. He is an executive producer and helped co-write the pilot. He has even shared a picture on X (formerly Twitter) of his chair on set with the caption, "Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?"
Needless to say, fans of the original book series can breathe a sigh of relief that this series will more closely follow the plotline of the books.
