The eight-episode limited series is adapted from the best-selling book by Laurence Leamer titled Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era. The book explains how writer Truman Capote struggled with writer's block after a successful career. Looking for a new story, Capote decides to write about the sordid lives of the elite high-society women in his social circle, whom he calls swans. These women have confided in him as a trusted confidant, so when their secrets are released to the public, their lives are ruined. Their retaliation ultimately leads to Capote's downfall.
Also starring in the series is Treat Williams, who portrays TV executive William Paley. Williams tragically passed in a motorcycle accident after filming the show, making Feud his final TV role. Watts, who portrays Paley's wife, Barbara "Babe" Paley in the series, spoke with ET about working with Williams.
"In between the scenes that we were making, he just talked endlessly about how happy he was and about his beautiful family and his dogs and living in Vermont," Watts said. "It's really horrible that he won't get to see this and see us all celebrate his work."
