'House of the Dragon' star Ewan Mitchell sheepishly opens up about getting naked as cameras rolled.
Ewan Mitchell ditched his usual green leather costume -- and his eyepatch -- in a pivotal moment during a recent episode of House of the Dragon, shocking audiences with a surprise full-frontal nude scene.
During an interview on Wednesday's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor behind Prince Aemond Targaryen shared a behind-the-scenes story about his time in the Westeros brothel, revealing that it wasn't exactly what he expected.
The conversation veered toward nudity after Mitchell and co-star Fabien Frankel, who plays Ser Criston Cole in the Game of Thrones prequel, said that their typical on-set wardrobes are unbearably hot. A pair of nude scenes in the show's second season, during episodes two and three, was a welcome change for Mitchell.
"I thought I'd work it and I'd be, like, the perfect temperature for those scenes," Mitchell shared.
The 27-year-old actor was thrown a curveball, however, when he was led to a different studio than where he usually films.
"It's like a fridge freezer," he said of the set. "Yeah, it was a shock to the system. A shock to the naked body."
He jokingly added, "I hope you enjoyed it and I hope my mother is OK with it."
House of the Dragon's recent episodes have found Aemond seeking comfort in the arms of a brothel madam named Sylvi (Michelle Bonnard) in the wake of his regret over Lucerys Velaryon's tragic killing last season.
At one point, his brother, King Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney), finds Aegon there and publicly ridicules him over staying with the same prostitute to whom he lost his virginity. The scene prompts Aemond to stand defiantly on the bed and flash his fully-naked body to all as he exits the room.
During their interview on Wednesday, Frankel, 30, assured his co-star that he "really enjoyed' the scene.

When ET spoke with Mitchell at the show's New York City premiere in June, the actor mused about his character's journey this season.
"You never know what you're gonna get with Aemond," he said. "One minute you might love him, the next moment you might hate him, but that's a testament to [showrunner] Ryan Condal and his writing team. They really do change continually."
New episodes of House of the Dragon season 2 premiere Sundays at 9 p.m. PT/ET on HBO and streaming on Max.
