Tony Shalhoub and Alfred Molina co-star as a dysfunctional family in the film, based on Brian Morton's novel.
You know how it's said that therapists might actually be more screwed up than the rest of us? That's certainly the case for Holly Hunter's character in the upcoming film, Breakable You, and ET has the first trailer.
"At 58, I get to start all over," Hunter's Eleanor explains of her optimistic outlook, despite her complicated relationship with her ex-husband (Tony Shalhoub) and even more complicated romance with her ex's brother (Alfred Molina). "I haven't been this happy in a long time!"
Breakable You, based on the Brian Morton novel, is directed by Andrew Wagner (Starting Out in the Evening) and co-stars Cristin Milioti (recently seen in a standout Black Mirror episode). The divorce dramedy premiered at last year's Palm Springs International Film Festival -- where Hunter returned this year to receive the fest's Career Achievement Award.
Here is the movie's official synopsis:
"Eleanor Weller (Hunter), a therapist who is not coping well with changes in her personal life, including a recent divorce and the growing instability of her daughter. Her ex-husband Adam (Shalhoub) is a once promising playwright whose career has been on a steady decline for many years. When Adam receives a manuscript written by a dead friend, he seizes an opportunity to transform his life."
Breakable You is available digitally on March 13.
