Hailey Bieber also addresses how she hid her pregnancy for more than six months before she and Justin Bieber announced it.
As Justin Bieber's song, "Stuck With U," goes, "It's just you and me" -- but not for long for him and wife Hailey Bieber.
The couple famously -- and unexpectedly -- announced in May that they are expecting their first child together. Adding to the surprise, the mom-to-be's rep confirmed to ET that Hailey was already more than six months pregnant at the time of the reveal, making fans wonder how the world-famous pair had managed to keep the pregnancy out of the spotlight for so long.
"I was honestly able to keep it quiet because I stayed small for a long time," Hailey tells W magazine in a new cover interview for the 2024 summer issue. "I didn't have a belly, really, until I was six months pregnant, which was when I announced it. I was able to wear big jackets and stuff."
Eventually, the two dropped the big baby news, a relief to the Rhode founder.
"I probably could have hid it until the end," she tells the magazine. "But I didn't enjoy the stress of not being able to enjoy my pregnancy outwardly. I felt like I was hiding this big secret, and it didn't feel good. I wanted the freedom to go out and live my life."
There was one added benefit, however, to Hailey and Justin keeping their little one just to themselves. After all, as Hailey shares, she was still adjusting to welcoming a new person into the dynamic she and her husband had built after nearly six years of marriage.
"In the beginning [of pregnancy], it was super emotional for me. Like, 'I love this human so much. How can I possibly bring someone else into this?'" she says. "I'm trying to soak in these days of it being Justin and me, just the two of us."
Earlier this month, a source told ET that the expectant parents have been "spending time with family and friends, going to church, and leaning on their closeknit circles on the regular."
Added the source, "They've been trying to keep everything sacred during this special time."
And what a special time it has been as they come closer to realizing one of their dreams together.
"They have wanted this for a long time and can't wait to expand their family and bring a child into the world," a source previously told ET. "Hailey and Justin are united and have been on the same page when it comes to parenthood. They have experienced so much together as a couple and feel ready to take this next step in their lives and relationship."
