Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance at the London premiere of Twisters to support his friend and Top Gun: Maverick co-star, Glen Powell.
Cruise and Powell posed together with two buckets of popcorn, capturing the fun of the evening. Cruise shared his excitement on Instagram on Monday, writing, "Fun night with friends, watching a movie!!"
Powell shared the same photo, writing, "When your wingman follows you into the storm…"
The friendship between Cruise and Powell blossomed during the production of Top Gun: Maverick, which was released in 2022.
At February's 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards, 35-year-old Powell chatted with ET's Nischelle Turner, shedding light on his experiences working on Twisters and the invaluable advice he received from Cruise.
"I mean, look, the amount that I've learned from Tom on Top Gun: Maverick, it's the greatest film school I've ever had," Powell gushed over the 62-year-old actor. "I learned from [super producer] Jerry Bruckheimer, Joseph Kosinski, Chris McQuarrie, Tom Cruise. That education, I've taken it onto every project since I shot that movie."
The London premiere of Twisters, held at Cineworld in Leicester Square, had a slew of stars gracing the red carpet. Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos Martinez dazzled as they posed alongside co-star Powell, who donned a black suit with white hemming.
In Twisters, Edgar-Jones and Powell play rival camp leaders chasing the same storms, a thrilling follow-up to the 1996 film Twister, which starred Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton as a storm-chasing duo reunited by a colossal storm.
Twisters hits theaters on July 19.
