Glen Powell's Parents Surprise Him on the 'Today' Show Plaza With Signs

Glen's Powell's parents, Cyndy Powell and Glen Powell Sr., frequently appear at his promotional events and even cameo in his movies.

Glen Powell has the sweetest relationship with his parents!

When the Twisters star, 35, appeared on the Today show on Wednesday, his parents, Cyndy Powell and Glen Powell Sr., couldn't help but show up to support him. Much to Glen's surprise, the two followed him to Today and stood outside 30 Rockefeller Plaza in New York with amusing signs.

"I changed Glen Powell's diapers," Cyndy's sign said while Glen Sr.'s read, "Glen Powell is our force of nature."

In a clip of the cute moment on X (formerly Twitter), the Anyone But You heartthrob and Dylan Dreyer spotted the pair in the crowd. Despite them going incognito in black sunglasses, Glen could identify his proud parents from anywhere.

"Yeah, I recognize both of these jokers," Glen said with a laugh.

Glen's parents frequently appear at his promotional events and even cameo in his movies. In May, the duo hilariously trolled Glen at his Hit Man hometown premiere in Texas, holding equally embarrassing signs. "Stop trying to make Glen Powell happen," Cyndy's cardboard message read as her husband's stated, "It's never gonna happen."

"You've got his back all the time, but you're also teasing him all the time too," Dreyer told Glen's parents before asking them how the journey has been tagging along with their son on his ride to movie stardom.

"It's a fun ride," Cyndy said. "We have big FOMO so this is really fun for us."

Co-hosts Dreyer, 42, and Hoda Kotb, 59, pointed out that Glen's parents -- who have been married since 1984 and also share two daughters, Lauren, 38, and Leslie, 32 -- have a tendency to show up with signs at their son's events.

"They always figure out where I am -- I don't know how they do it, but they show up," Glen added of his parents, who frequently join him on the red carpet and in his movies.

In his interview with Kotb, Glen confirmed their Twisters cameo, adding, "They've made it since Spy Kids 3 -- literally since Spy Kids 3, I think they've been in every single one."

Since he appeared in 2003's Spy Kids 3: Game Over, Glen's parents have appeared in every one of his movies. For example, Cyndy and Glen Sr. appeared as airline passengers in Anyone But You. They can be spotted sitting behind Glen and co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones in the Twisters trailer.

Back at the Hit Man premiere in May, Glen spoke to ET about his parents' playful support.

"Well, my family -- always my mom and my dad -- are known for kind of trolling me a bit," he told ET. "They thought that was going to be a funny idea so I loved it. Even though they troll me, they support me in every way."

In July, Glen and his parents dished to ET about his love life.

"No dating apps," said Glen, who frequently uses his puppy, Brisket, as a prop in his thirst traps. "No, I'm a little too busy for that."

What Cyndy and Glen Sr. hope their son finds in a woman is simple.

"Somebody who is family oriented and has a great sense of humor," Glen Sr. said.

"And kind," Cyndy added.

Twisters hits theaters on July 19.
