The Brazilian supermodel opened up about motherhood on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.'
When it comes to Gisele Bündchen's parenting style, communication is key. The 43-year-old supermodel and mother of two is opening up about how she stays close with her kids as they grow into young adults.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, host Jimmy Fallon kicked things off by asking Bündchen about her children. The Brazilian star shares 14-year-old son Benjamin and 11-year-old daughter Vivian with her ex-husband, Tom Brady.
Bündchen noted that both of them are "huge," and that "Benny is taller than me."
She then offered a bit of advice for Fallon, who is the dad of two daughters: 10-year-old Winnie and 9-year-old Frances.
"You wait," Bündchen teased. "I mean, it's amazing having teenagers and pre-teens, but... You learn so much. The most important thing [is] you have to make time to have conversations, because, I think, they are changing, every day is a whole new world."
She continued, "It's so important to kinda talk. That's a huge thing."
Bündchen -- whose new cookbook, Nourish: Simple Recipes to Empower Your Body and Feed Your Soul, drops March 26 -- also shared how the book is meant to serve as a lifeline for fellow moms.
When her children were younger, she explained, she would often host playdates at home and the mothers would marvel at how she was able to serve nutritious but kid-friendly dishes.
"Moms would come back and be like, 'How did you get my kid to eat vegetables?'" she recalled. "So then I would start sharing recipes with moms and, you know, I have five sisters, so we always share recipes, as well. And then one time my sister said, 'Why don't you just make a book?'"
Bündchen also emphasized the importance of her tried-and-true meal prepping method.
"A big thing about this book is meal planning," she said. "I think a lot of stuff that happens with moms, they get overwhelmed because they get home and it's like, 'I'm starving, my kids are screaming.' You know how it is."
She added, "Just like, 'I want peace, please stop!'"
In addition to Benjamin and Vivian, Bündchen also served as a step-mother to Brady's eldest child. The former NFL pro shares 16-year-old son Jack with ex Bridget Moynahan.
Back in August, Bündchen offered heartfelt birthday wishes to Jack on social media while promising to "always be here" for him even after the end of her marriage to his father.
"I remember when you were just a little peanut and now you are towering over me," she wrote at the time. "I am so lucky to have you in my life and I will always be here for you no matter what! Love you so much!❤️."
Bündchen recently opened up about how she and Brady co-parent since their divorce.
"I think there are easier days than others but I think it's amazing that the kids...they're super smart children. They know what they can get away with," Bündchen said in an interview with Robin Roberts earlier this month. "So I think it's natural that [our houses] have different rules and then kids just adapt. And they're going to try to do what they want. And I can only control what I do. And I think for me, now is really about the balance."
