Gisele Bündchen has broken her silence on the death of her mother, Vânia Nonnenmacher.
The beloved matriarch of the supermodel died on Sunday at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bündchen has now publicly acknowledged her mother's death. Taking to Instagram, she shared a loving message accompanied by a series of cherished photos, paying tribute to her late mother.
"Beloved mom, It hurts to know that I won’t be able to hug you anymore, but I know that you will always be watching over us. You were an angel on earth, always helping everyone around you. I am so grateful to be your daughter and to have learned from you," Bündchen wrote. "Thank you for being the best role model of love, strength, compassion, courage, and grace. I will forever cherish the beautiful memories we shared and will live by the values you taught me. You will live forever through the many lives that you touched. Thank you for giving me five best friends for life. Your love will always guide us. I will see you in my dreams. Love you ❤️."
Nonnenmacher was not only the mother of Bündchen but also of her five siblings, including her twin sister, Patricia, as well as her other sisters, Rafaela, Graziela, Gabriela and Raquel.
According to Brazilian outlet GHZ, Nonnenmacher led a life of dedication, working as a bank teller while raising her six children in the Brazilian town of Horizontina alongside her husband, Valdir Bündchen.
Bündchen has frequently expressed her admiration and love for her mother in various social media posts. Last June, she celebrated Nonnenmacher's birthday with a heartfelt Instagram post, saying, "Happy birthday Mom! I am forever grateful for all that you have done and continue to do for us. Thank you for always loving, inspiring and teaching us. Thank you for giving me life! Love you so much!"
