Just one month after publicly announcing their breakup, Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik were spotted kissing in New York City.
In photos obtained by DailyMail.com, the two can be seen passionately smooching while walking around Manhattan, where Hadid has an apartment, on Sunday.
The Tommy Hilfiger model-designer was sporting a long black blazer, cropped sweatshirt, distressed light-wash jeans, leopard print booties and a black Mon Purse tote during their outing, while the "Pillow Talk" singer opted for a red Resort Corps hoodie topped with a black puffy jacket lined with the Rolling Stones lip logo, tapered sweatpants, high black gym socks and black-and-white sneakers.
Though Malik was not spotted at Hadid's celeb-filled birthday celebrations last week, there have been rumors swirling that the pair was back together. The former One Direction member reportedly gave her red roses on her birthday and he's been spotted leaving her Big Apple apartment a couple of times, including on April 18 and last Tuesday, the day after she turned 23.
Plus, Hadid liked a trippy Instagram pic that Malik posted on April 20, as well as a moody black-and-white photo he shared one day earlier and a shot of his "Let Me" billboard in NYC from mid-April.
Earlier this month, Malik alluded that the new single, "Let Me," was about Hadid when he called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest, saying he wrote the song about eight months ago when he was still optimistic about that relationship.
"I was in love and I think that's pretty evident, and I was aspiring to be in love with someone for the rest of my life and the rest of theirs, as we all do,” the British singer said. “Things change, we move forward in life, times change but, yeah, that’s what I was thinking when I wrote it."
The gorgeous couple split in March after more than two years of dating. Malik confirmed the news via Twitter, sharing a note that was seemingly written using the Notes app on his iPhone.
"Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship, and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and friend," he shared. "She has such an incredible soul. I'm grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time. We wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all."
Shortly after, Hadid shared her own statement, echoing Malik's amicable words.
"Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years," she explained. "Not only in the relationship, but in life in general. I'm forever grateful for the love, time and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever's meant to be, will always be."
It was clear from Hadid's note that they weren't shutting the door to the possibility of a reconciliation, and it appears that telling line has come true already.
