Georgina Chapman is making her public return to the fashion world in a big way.
The 43-year-old Marchesa designer made a surprise appearance at the 2019 Met Gala in New York City on Monday, posing alongside actress Constance Wu. Chapman looked amazing in a sparkly tiered dress Marchesa dress, while Wu also dazzled in a low-cut silver Marchesa gown featuring fluttery cut-out sleeves.
Chapman has laid low since her ex-husband, disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, was publicly accused of decades of alleged sexual harassment throughout his career in Hollywood in October 2017. He has denied the allegations against him. Weinstein pleaded not guilty last May to rape and other sex crime charges filed by the Manhattan District Attorney's office.
In October 2017, Chapman announced she was leaving him after nearly 10 years of marriage. A source told ET last January that Weinstein and Chapman -- who share two children together, 8-year-old India and 6-year-old Dashiell -- reached a divorce settlement.
Chapman broke her silence about the end of her marriage in an interview with Vogue last May.
"I have moments of rage, I have moments of confusion, I have moments of disbelief!" she said. "And I have moments when I just cry for my children. What are their lives going to be? What are people going to say to them? It's like, they love their dad. They love him. I just can't bear it for them!"
She also made it clear she didn't want anyone feeling sorry for her.
"I don't want to be viewed as a victim, because I don’t think I am," she said. "I am a woman in a sh** situation, but it's not unique."
