'RuPaul's Drag Race': The Complete Winners List

Cameroon! Season 1 may have been finding its footing through that hella hazy filter, but there was no denying the talent of the queens who stormed the werk room in the show's inaugural run. Drag Race's first season gave us iconic personalities like Tammie Brown, Ongina and more, but queen BeBe Zahara Benet reigned over all, ultimately beating out Nina Flowers and Rebecca Glasscock in the finale to become America's first-ever drag superstar. C'est bon, c'est bon, indeed.

Perhaps the most controversial crowning in Drag Race herstory (at least, until All Stars 3), Tyra Sanchez stood atop the season 2 podium ahead of Drag Race all-timers like Raven and Jujubee -- not to mention her bitter rival, Tatianna -- but has since become more famous for her off-stage drama. Perhaps the best thing that can be said about season 2 is that it left fans with an abundance of amazing queens to enjoy a second time around on future seasons of All Stars.

Following season 2's still-controversial win was perhaps the least-surprising crowning to date. Season 3's queen supreme, Raja, seemed destined to take home the crown from the very first episode, turning one stunning look after another. (Even Mariah's mirror message been knew, according to Drag Race lore.) While the season also featured several queens who would go on to become Drag Race legends, like Manila Luzon, Delta Work and the second coming of Shangela, it was Raja's crown to lose, and we all knew she wouldn't. Thanks, Perez. 

Happy Halloween, everybody! Sharon Needles placed her foot on season 4's neck the moment she walked down her first runway with her bald, post-apocalyptic zombie look and fake blood dripping out of her mouth, and never once "RuPaulogized" for being an unabashed, whimsical weirdo. While some of her fellow queens didn't appreciate her spooky style (Drag Race fans won't ever be able to pass a Party City without hearing Phi Phi O'Hara), there's no denying that Sharon changed the game for good when she vamped down the finale runway with a crown behind her Ouija board headpiece. 

The first season of All Stars may still be controversial for its twist of pairing the queens up to compete in teams of two, but despite it being a bit of a "chickensh*t gig" no one can argue with the outcome. Chad Michaels came within a wig hair of winning in season 4, and Mama Ru wasted no time in getting a crown on her head later that year. Chad and her partner, Shannel (famous for being the first Drag Race queen to pull off a wig ru-veal back in season 1), won three challenges in a row leading up to the finale, where Chad lip synced for the crown against perennial Drag Race runner-up Raven, and won the first-ever All Stars title. I mean, she's Cher, b*tch.

Don't sleep on Jinkx Monsoon! The eccentric, narcoleptic queen was underestimated -- particularly by the Rolaskatox clique -- throughout season 5, but got the last laugh and the crown in the season finale. Her comedy skills propelled her through the acting challenges -- and made up for a few lackluster runways -- and her sugar skull look and weirdly perfect (or perfectly weird) lip sync to "Malambo No. 1" were just a few of her unforgettable moments. Turns out, all that drama was just water off a duck's back.

Drag Race's beloved Queen of Mean, Bianca Del Rio, kept to her signature style on almost every season 6 runway, but fans were laughing too hard to care. A comedy queen who's dubbed herself a "professional clown," Del Rio stayed strong for the whole season -- even against the mega-talented Adore Delano and uber-fishy Courtney Act -- never once landing in the bottom or lip syncing for her life. That's no bologna!

Come through! Violet Chachki was a fashion queen through and through, and made no apologies about it throughout season 7 -- wowing from the very first challenge with her reversible tartan bodysuit reveal. Though she had some stumbles in the acting and comedy challenges, and took a while to show her personality in the werk room, she delivered innovative, gag-worthy looks week after week and was always cinched for the gods. (Remember when she snatched Ariana Grande's ponytail clean off her head?) By the time the finale rolled around, the race was Violet's to lose. And thank goodness she didn't -- especially because of her unforgettably stunning hand-off look at the next year's season 8 finale.

Bob walked into her season purse first, and never looked back. A comedy queen who slayed every acting challenge and always brought her own sickening flair to the runways, season 8 was Bob's from the jump, and she knew it. Somehow that confidence was never off-putting -- it was just too much fun watching her drop improv gems in "Chocolate Chip Cookie's" stunningly-stoned jumpsuit, channel both Uzo Aduba and Carol Channing in the "Snatch Game" and campaign for president opposite Derrick Barry. Bob might not like to show off (yeah, right), but when she beat out fan-favorite queens Kim Chi and Naomi Smalls in the season 8 finale, it was clear she'd earned every bragging right.

After coming up short in season 5, Alaska returned for her crown on All Stars 2, and it was $10,000 well spent. Distancing herself from the Rolaskatox clique and with only Lil' Poundcake to keep her company at the top, she played the All Stars game to near perfection, showing off her polished style evolution and strategically eliminating opponents as she won four challenges and three lip syncs. While almost derailed by one of Drag Race's most epic meltdowns in the penultimate episode -- Crying! Bribery! Party! -- Alaska held on for the win, beating out Detox and Katya in the finale to take home the crown. Some might say the victory was "burgled," but we're here to make it clear: You can't deny it was earned. 

Artistic queen Sasha Velour entered the werk room with a crown and a scream, and closed out season 9's competition with a scepter in her hand and the crowd in awe. After sticking to her eclectic, original style to deliver impressive looks throughout the season's runways, Sasha and her fellow finalists were shocked in the finale by the ru-veal of the now-standard "Lip Sync Showdown" for the crown. She took out friend and fellow front-runner Shea Coulee in the first round -- giving birth to a truly iconic Drag Race moment with her rose petal wig snatch -- and called back Valentina's face mask fiasco in the final round, defeating Peppermint to "change sh*t up" as America's Next Drag Superstar.

Move over, George R.R. Martin, because the third turn of All Stars had more dramatic twists and turns than Shangela's favorite HBO epic-turned-perpetual metaphor. As it turns out, Khaleesi Laquifa Wadley may have forseen her fate. While All Stars 3 continued the tradition of "lip syncing for your legacy," the queens were blindsided two times over -- once when BenDeLaCreme chose to send herself home after starting the season with four challenge wins in a row, and then again when the eliminated queens returned as a jury to narrow the final four queens down to the top two. No one can say Trixie's win over Kennedy Davenport wasn't deserved -- she more than made up for a lackluster season 7 by showing off her legit musical talents and comedy skills ("Snatch Game" not included), not to mention that iconic "Red for Filth" look. But it was stunning not to see Shangela in the final lip sync -- and hard not to think about how differently things may have played out had her gamesmanship not gone up in dragonfire.

Season 10 was pretty much packed top to bottom with iconic queens, but Aquaria stood out from the very beginning. Whether it was her cool confidence, her incredibly savvy and unique runway styles -- perhaps the best the show has seen to date -- or the fact that she was 21 years old, there was something special about the b*tch from New York City. She never even had to lip sync until the finale, where she bested runners-up Kameron Michaels and Eureka O'Hara, turning looks and stunting pretty all the way to the crown. 

Drag Race got weird once again in season 11, when eclectic queen Yvie Oddly rolled in as the first-ever competing queen from Denver, Colorado. Yvie's unique fashions placed her at the top of the competition nearly every week, but it wasn't until her unforgettable "Sorry Not Sorry" lip sync against Brooke Lynn Hytes (which culminated in an indisputable double save) that Drag Race fans knew something truly special was happening -- and it wasn't just that insane laugh. When the finale's lip sync tournament came down to those two queens once again, the whole theater went wild as they took us to the "Edge of Glory." It was a close race to the finish, but ultimately, Yvie backbending in that stunning mirrored headpiece cemented her status as America's Next Drag Superstar, and she left us with a reminder to "embrace your oddities and let your freak flag fly!"

Continuing in the All Stars tradition of giving us gagworthy twists and controversial endings, All Stars 4 pulled off a jaw-dropping Drag Race first: a double crowning. Monét X Change and Trinity The Tuck couldn't have been more different -- Monét, a quick-witted comedy queen from The Bronx, whose most famous season 10 runway involved kitchen sponge couture, and Trinity, a southern pageant queen from Orlando who found her comedy chops in season 9 -- but they fought their way through a crowded cast of fan-favorites to make it to the finale. And when it came down to one last lip sync, they were each too strong a "Fighter" to send home empty-handed. All hails the queens!

The 32-year-old pageant queen proved to be the essence of beauty and so much more in Drag Race's strangest season yet, winning the quarantine crown during the virtual finale with a total of three maxi challenge wins including the all-important superfan makeover. Having previously auditioned for season 7 alongside fellow Milwaukee queen Trixie Mattel, Jaida opened up to ET's Brice Sander about what the win means to her.

"It does not matter where you come from, what your background is, how long you've been working at things and how many things you failed at, you can achieve anything," she said. "Success is so many different things to many people. And I still found a way to find success in my life just by pursuing my happiness and my dreams."

After a shocking finale upset in season 9, Shea Couleé returned to slay another day in All Stars 5 -- and she did just that. Beating out an impressive Top 3 that also included perennial Drag Race fave Jujubee and the confident return of Miz Cracker, Shea took the crown after a hard-fought season full of dramatic feuds, hilarious challenges and sickening runways. 

"When I left filming, I just felt really at peace with everything, because I knew that I went in there and gave it my 100 percent best and most authentic self," Shea told ET ahead of the finale. "And that's what I wanted to do. I'm really glad to look back and watch the show and see the person that I had grown into from my time on season 9."

Drag Race season 13 took place at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and an unprecedented season deserved a winner like no other! Symone started her season with three big wins in a row -- including the gauntlet-style "Lip Sync for Your Life" tournament in the season premiere -- and her star never really faded. Season 13 culminated in a socially-distanced, outdoor runway finale, where the House of Avalon stunner turned in some of the most jaw-dropping looks the show has ever seen in order to clinch the crown in supreme fashion.

Not only was Kylie Sonique Love's All Stars 6 win a victory more than 10 years in the making, the season 2 queen's crowing was an historic one as well, making her the first trans woman to win an American season of the show!

Following a nerve-wracking double shantay in season 14's penultimate episode, Willow Pill was just the right medicine for the finale, taking home the bejeweled scepter as the newest reigning queen. However, the newly-crowned winner did take a moment to reflect on the tough competition in season 14, joking in her speech, "I just really wanna thank my family, and my friends, and most of all, I need to thank Kornbread’s ankle."
