Major Celeb Hair Transformations of 2020

Back from a family vacation, the mom of two took to her Instagram Story on July 29 to show off her new lob. "So good she said in one vid," modeling the cut from every angle. Her hairstylist, Irinel de León, also shared a video to Instagram, noting, "We went short."

After a short-lived time as a blonde, the model was back to brunette -- albeit a lighter shade than her natural hue -- on July 23.

The Like a Boss star took to Instagram on July 18 to gush over her newly-shaved head. Haddish decided to cut her hair off on July 7, but only recently shaved her head. "Just Loving my new look thought I’d share it with y’all. The best part is when water hits my head it feels like kisses from God," she captioned a photo of herself beaming over her bald head. "#sheready for more of Gods Love!" 

After bleaching part of her hair blonde for the release of her March 2020 album Future Nostalgia and playing around with pink shades during quarantine, the "Don't Start Now" singer happily went back to dark brown. She showed off the look on Instagram, captioning a series of pics on July 16, "back by popular demand 💁🏻‍♀️."

From The Little Mermaid to Game of Thrones! After going red for the second time earlier this year, the Modern Family star debuted a bleached blonde look on July 4, which she dubbed, "Winter Is Coming!!!!!!!!!!!" Daenerys would be proud!

Nope, that's not a wig! One day after she showed off long pink locks (that was a wig), hairstylist Chris Appleton dyed the makeup mogul's hair a light chocolate brown on June 30. Her sisters were big fans of the shade, with Kim Kardashian West commenting "Damnnnnnn I am LOVING this hair color," and Khloe Kardashian writing on her Instagram both "This is your hair color" and "I literally just fainted!!!!! Gagged! Dead! All of that!!!"

The natural brunette has rocked bleached blonde locks and a pink hue before, but her new look is pure fire. “You guys, I dyed my hair red. Do you love it?" she asked fans on Instagram as she debuted her fresh dye job.

She's rocked light locks for so long, it feels like she was born to be blonde, but True's mama went back to her darker roots for her 36th birthday on June 27. "Birthday Glam✨," she wrote on Instagram, adding, "BTW... I’m loving my brown hair. I never thought I would say that lol blonde still owns my heart but this brown is giving me a little something right now."

The famously blonde, ponytailed dancer shocked fans by going brunette on June 26, but the look only lasted for a couple of days. She shared a clip on TikTok with the caption "We back" and also showed off her blonde-again shade on Instagram. "Brown hair was fun.... but blonde is my thing," the entertainer captioned a selfie where she's smiling and holding up a peace sign.

She's famously a brunette, but it looks like 2020 is really transforming everyone! Ratajkowski debuted her new blonde locks on June 23 before sharing five photos the next day, including a close-up, some bikini clad shots and a snap with her dog, Colombo. 

The Stranger Things star showed off her long blonde extensions styled in two different ways on June 23, asking her fans, "Straight or curlyyyy ? ?"

The RuPaul's Drag Race star snapped a selfie so fans could see her "new hair." "Sashaying into the week with a new trim & color thanks to @sammy985 at #FigueroaSalon in Dallas," she wrote on June 22. "I had to remove my mask to snap this shot, as this is THE FIRST TIME in my life that I’ve ever had my real hair colored. I literally cried in the chair ... maybe it’s these pandemic hormones ... but I honestly was shook about how much I liked it. I hope y’all do too!"

The TikTok star crossed over to the dark side! She sported blonde locks earlier this year before testing out a light brunette shade, but on June 18, she showed off an even darker 'do. Rae shared a bikini pic to Instagram that allowed her rich chocolate hue to shine in the sun, captioning the pic, "New hair who this?"

Miley Cyrus buzzed off her beau's lengthy locks! "Buzzin. Clean cuts for clean oceans I say! ??‍☠️," Simpson captioned an Instagram video of the transformation on April 2.

The Jurassic World star took a walk on the purple(ish) side! "I’m sure @jurassicworld won’t mind I changed Claire’s hair to fuchsia — what do you think?" Howard asked her Instagram followers on April 1.

So '90s! J.Lo showed off the new chunky highlights she got in honor of the new season of World of Dance. "Spicing things up for #WOD ✨ @nbcworldofdance #CinnamonSpice," Lopez said of her new locks on March 13.

The musician has shaved her hair off again, but this time in the name of art. The 19-year-old Red Table Talk star teamed up with her musical collaborator, Tyler Cole, for a 24-hour performance about anxiety at the Museum of Contemporary Art's Geffen Contemporary in Los Angeles on March 11, which, at one point, included Cole cutting Smith's hair then eventually shaving her head. The performance showed the pair going through eight stages of anxiety while inside a glass box. Two days later, their band, The Anxiety, released their self-titled debut album. Willow's mom, Jada Pinkett Smith, proudly documented moments from her daughter's art performance on her Instagram Story, writing, "The start of the new beginning," along with a heart emoji. Pinkett Smith also posted video to here timeline, captioning the clip, "@willowsmith at her interactive experience. My baby shaved her head! Again!"

The 43-year-old actress covered the March 2020 issue of Net-a-Porter's magazine, Porter, and rocked a chic, shorn hairstyle for the stylish photo shoot. The fierce look paired with her minimal makeup definitely highlights her stunning features and garnered her lots of compliments on Instagram.

Fire it up! The "If My Heart Had a Heart Singer" has been lightening her locks to various shades of blonde for years, but she's decided to try a red hue on for a change. "The fire’s lit on the outside now, too. ?Thanks for helping me get to this spicy shade @amandacraiglec @leighedwardsandcompany !!" Pope wrote on Instagram on Feb. 27.

He's ready to join a boy band! The Stranger Things star turned up to the Harper's Bazaar Exhibition, wearing custom Salvatore Ferragamo, during Paris Fashion Week on Feb. 26 with noticeably highlighted locks.

Winter left celeb fave Nine Zero One in West Hollywood on Feb. 25 with a new flame hue, similar to the look she previously sported in 2016."With Modern Family's long run ending, Ariel is finally free to have the hair color she wants. She wanted to strip out the black and go back to her strawberry golden blonde look we had done previously when she was on break from filming," Tabitha Dueñas, a master stylist at the salon, explained. "She said she never wants to go back to black again. The seven-hour process was done by stripping the black with color remover and then I used lightening cream in multiple rounds. All colors were ammonia-free, and we finished her service with the In Common Crystal Cashmere Treatment. Her hair feels as good as it did before we colored it!" 

She's gone to the dark side! After years of highlighting her mane, the reality TV star showcased her new, sleek dark chocolate brown locks via Instagram Feb. 20, simply writing, "I know."

The Suits star and her son updated their looks! The 41-year-old actress, who's known for her blonde hair, took to Instagram on Feb. 18 to show off a brunette, chin-length bob. Her 3-year-old son, Joshua, also rocked a new look, showing off his blond, slicked-back hair as he smiled wide next to his mama. "Fresh cuts for the Kelley’s [sic]. The girls were no where [sic] to be found for these pics...or they’re hiding cause they don’t want to be in the pic...but every one of us got our hairs done and we feel fine!" Heigl added of her daughters, Naleigh, 11, and Adalaide, 7. "PS. I will capture the girls cuts one way or another...they can’t hide forever. ?." 

So long, red hair! After 18 years of dying her hair a vibrant cherry hue, the Talk co-host decided to go gray. Photos of her new look made headlines over Presidents Day weekend, and she debuted it for the first time on her CBS daytime talk show on Feb. 18. Osbourne told her co-hosts that after years and years of keeping up the high-maintenance color, she was ready to say goodbye. "I was just so fed up of going, having it dyed and having it dyed, and I just was like, 'I can’t do this anymore. I’m like, why am I trying to do this or be something that I’m not?' So, just be who you are," she explained, noting that celebs like Jane Fonda and Helen Mirren looked "elegant" with their sleek, gray locks.

Smooth as honey! The makeup mogul called these luscious, lighter brown locks that she debuted on Valentine's Day a "new vibe ?."

Ronan's hairstylist Adir Abergel, who styles the tresses of the biggest A-list stars from Reese Witherspoon to Anne Hathaway, revealed to ET they are indeed "real bangs" and were cut "on the morning of" the awards show. "When I saw [Saoirse's] dress I immediately thought of a modern-day Audrey Hepburn, and I thought how do we actually kind of go there and make them, but make them a little bit cooler, a little bit more notched in," Abergel explained during ET Style Feed's Oscars recap on Monday morning. "And we saw a lot of that actually on the runway last year and so I think that it's become like this big trend."

Do blondes have more fun? We're about to find out! We're used to seeing the Oscar winner with short brown locks, but at the 2020 Academy Awards on Feb. 9, Colman hit the red carpet with her cropped 'do bleached blonde.

Rita Moreno, is that you? We know her well for her blonde bob, but Fonda shocked us all when she debuted a dramatically short, gray cut at the 92nd Annual Academy Awards.

Mowry traded in her long locks for a new short 'do! She showed off her natural curls on Instagram with a makeup-free selfie on Jan. 31, writing, "It was time! #shorthair #dontcare ☺️ #skin #nofilter #nomakeup This.Is.Me #selfcare isn’t selfish ?? ✂️- @nakiarachon."

The former Disney Channel darling's got the blues! "New hair New Movie ? Learning so many stunts I’m stoked about it," she captioned a selfie with her new dyed 'do on Jan. 28.

The model pulled a Miley, showing off a black mullet-and-bangs 'do via Instagram on Jan. 8, captioning the trio of pics with a simple "?" emoji.

The happy hippie is throwing it back to kick off 2020! "New hair. New year. NEW MUSIC. ?," Cyrus captioned a series of photos of herself rocking faded jeans, black cowboy boots and a white T-shirt on Jan. 6. She paired the look with futuristic black shades as she showed off her new edgy mullet.
