Demi Lovato's Style Evolution

Layering appeared to be all the rage for the then 15-year-old rising star. Lovato arrived at the Chevy Rocks the Future event at the Walt Disney Studios wearing zebra print leggings under a black dress and jacket. They accessorized with a newsboy cap and black booties.

For Disney's Upfront presentation in New York, they had some fun with their look, wearing a checkered shirt with faded black jeans with suspenders, and pink heels with socks. 

Rocking a preppy look at the 2008 Disney Channel Games, Lovato donned a gray pinstripe vest with matching shorts, black leggings, a gray long sleeve top and oxford shoes. 

Showing off their rocker side, Lovato arrived for their performance at The Crazy Donkey in NYC wearing black skinny jeans, a New Kids on the Block tee and black boots. They also sported new bangs and a smoky eye.

All dolled up in a cream ruffled dress with their hair in a curly updo, Lovato looked sweet at the American Music Awards.

Goodbye preppy, hello glam! At Nickelodeon's 2009 Kids' Choice Awards, the Disney star showed off their sexy side in a strapless gold dress with black platforms.

Continuing with their gold-and-black trend, Lovato added a rock n' roll vibe to their outfit at Disney's 2nd Annual Concert for Hope, pairing black pants with a pleather and metallic top.

Getting more confident as the years went by, a then 17-year-old Lovato opted for a playful BCBG Max Azria splatter paint strapless dress with gold-and-black platforms at the premiere of Disneynature's Oceans.

At a photocall to promote Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, Lovato opted for a more casual look. The multi-talented entertainer wore distressed jeans with a gray T-shirt that had sequin sleeves. They swept their hair back and wore minimal makeup.

The 18-year-old was getting comfortable in their own skin and experimenting more with their look. During an appearance at Y 100 radio station, Lovato opted for a bohemian look in a distressed jean skirt, cream blouse with a black hat. In their hair, they rocked feathers and beads.

The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards were a game changer for Lovato, who showed off their curves in a silver mini dress that featured a plunging neckline.

A sight for sore eyes! Showing off their versatility, Lovato was a vision in a glamorous blush-colored Maria Lucia Hohan gown at the 2011 NCLR ALMA Awards.

For Z100's Jingle Ball 2011 pre-show, Lovato layered up in all-black. The singer wore a velvet dress with a smoky dark gray blazer, tights, a scarf, platform boots and a hat. They accessorized with black and gold stacked bracelets.

It may have been winter, but Lovato rocked a colorful floral maxi-skirt with a black tube top at the GRAMMYs Dial Global Radio Remotes event. They did, however, keep warm with a black leather jacket.

Rocking a long blonde ponytail, Lovato looked stylish in an embellished Falguni & Shane Peacock mini with feathered hemline and leather cap sleeve. They completed the edgy look with black Christian Louboutin platform heels.

At the Roc Nation GRAMMY Brunch, the brunette opted for a trendy look consisting of a white button-up with a printed blazer, black skinny jeans, a hat and white loafers.

Dare to go bold! Lovato definitely kept "Cool for the Summer" in a black cutout bralette with Daisy Duke shorts and thigh-high gladiator heels at the launch of their Summer Pool Party Tour.
