Now that Ariana Grande is the latest celeb to get a butterfly added to her ever-growing body art collection, we thought we'd check in with the other stars who've had the winged creature inked on themselves, too.

It turns out it may have been part of an even larger piece. In May 2020, she shared a selfie to Instagram that showed two larger black ink butterflies on her upper right arm.

The "Senorita" singer noticed the edited pic and retweeted the image, even asking the fan who shared the shots to send him the original drawing. Following a DM exchange, Mendes decided he liked the design, created by a Chilean tattoo artist, enough to move forward with getting the ink. Mendes' tattoo artist, Livia Tsang, took to Instagram in July 2019 to show off Mendes' new butterfly design. "??? For the best @shawnmendes. Based on an edit from a fan, original art by @macdreaper ?," Tsang captioned pics of the design.
