In honor of Father's Day, we're taking a look at some of the most adorable moments when celebs walked red carpets or attended major events with the most important man in their life: their father!
Camila Cabello and Alejandro Cabello
The "Señorita" singer got a big kiss from her proud pop at the 2020 GRAMMYs. That night, the pop star performed "First Man" at the awards show, which caused her dad to cry during the emotional performance. Four months later on Father's Day, she dropped the music video for the song, which was full of home videos of Cabello and her father, writing on Instagram, "Papa, I made this for you."
Liv Tyler and Steven Tyler
The father-daughter duo matched in black at the Ad Astra premiere in Los Angeles in September 2019. Liv famously didn't know the Aerosmith frontman was her father until she was 17; in a story for Interview in 1997, she admitted, "My mom has a diary entry or something where I wrote, 'I think Steven is my father.'" They have since forged a closer relationship, with Steven frequently supporting his daughter both at public events and on his Instagram page. In 2008, Liv admitted to The Daily Telegraph, "I have more empathy for my parents now. As a child I didn't understand why that would happen -- how that could happen. Everybody had a different interpretation [of the situation] and how they participated. And you know what -- I'm OK with that. All that matters is whatever kind of relationship I can have with them now."
Hilary Swank and Stephen Michael Swank
The two-time Oscar winner had her father, a retired Air Force Chief Master Sergeant, with her at the Los Angeles special screening of What They Had in October 2018. The Million Dollar Baby actress took three years off from acting to care for her dad following a lung transplant. Back in 2015, she described the experience as "an honor" and said that she's more than happy to give up Hollywood roles to act as her father's sole caretaker "There's been job opportunities that I've passed on ... But I mean, really, what we're here for is our family, right?" Swank told HuffPo. "There's been a couple projects that are beautiful, but in the end, there's nothing I want to do more other than being with my dad in his time of need. You can't get this time back." She added that if she did not step up to care for her dad herself, she would "always look back and regret it."
Chris Hemsworth and Craig Hemsworth
Thor gave his dad a kiss on the forehead as he walked the red carpet of the 66th San Sebastian Film Festival's closing gala in Spain with both his father and his mother, Leonie Hemsworth, in September 2018. Back in 2015, Chris' younger brother, Liam Hemsworth, revealed to The Independent that Chris had paid off his parents' debt following major acting success.“[My father] called my brother Chris back and said, ‘I don’t know how to feel. Since I left home, I have had debts and I thought I’d be paying them off until I died and have this weight hanging over me, and now to have them completely cleared... They are so happy now and able to spend more time with us. I would love to be able to do something for my parents like that."
Bryce Dallas Howard and Ron Howard
The look-alike redheads enjoyed a sweet moment at the 2017 BAFTA Tea Party in Los Angeles. Bryce followed in her dad's famous footsteps (he became famous from his Happy Days ending before pivoting from acting to directing) and is now well-known in her own right, most notably for her work in the Jurassic World franchise in recent years. She made her own directorial debut with the documentary Dads in June 2020, in which Ron says within the first few moments of the film, "This is the payoff for being a dad."
Alexa Chung and Philip Chung
The English author-model's dad has been her date to many high-profile events, but the one that topped them all had to be the Portrait Gala 2017, where Philip had the honor of meeting the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.
Katy Perry and Keith Hudson
The pop star and her pops got all dressed up for the 12th Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball in New York City in November 2016. One year later, she praised her parents in a Today show interview, saying, "My parents are great and I love them so much... I cry sometimes thinking about how much I love them." The Hudsons also made a delightful appearance on American Idol in 2018.
Nicole Richie and Lionel Richie
The American Idol judge looked like the proudest father at Nicole's House of Harlow 1960 x REVOLVE event in Los Angeles in June 2016. The actress was formally adopted by Lionel and Brenda Harvey-Richie when she was nine. In a 2018 Harper's Bazaar interview, Nicole admitted that she and her dad were quite alike, explaining, "My dad and I will do anything for a laugh. If that means we’re the butt of the joke, so be it. In a nutshell, we’re desperate show ponies." In the same feature, Lionel said of his kids (he also has two other grown children, daughter Sofia and son Miles, both of whom now model), "I want my children to use their gifts in order to do service for others. That is, to make sure that their gifts are serving something bigger than themselves. And to do what I say."
Gigi and Bella Hadid and Mohamed Hadid
Mohamed's model daughters gave him kisses on his cheeks at the Victoria's Secret After-Party in Paris in November 2016. The girls have had their dad join them at events all over the world, from France to back home in California. "Happy Father’s Day Baba. You make me laugh more than anyone in the world! Thank you for my big sisters and baby brother. We love you?@mohamedhadid," Bella wrote on Instagram in 2020.
Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus
Miley has a very tight-knit family, but she has a special bond with her dad. Not only did she follow him into the music business, he also played her onscreen father on Hannah Montana. Billy Ray spoke of his daughter's sobriety in 2017, telling ET, "As a dad, I see Miley really just functioning on, like, a figure and a joy for life. I don't know how to break it down more than just the fact that I see a joy in her spirit and something coming from within that is just pure beauty, if you will."
Lady Gaga and Joseph Germanotta
Mother Monster's father was her date to the 2015 Academy Awards. "My whole life my dad was trying to hide from me that he was a real dude, and now I'm old enough, we're the best of friends, because he's just given up on trying to be a father," Gaga told Rolling Stone in 2010.

Jack Whitehall and Michael Whitehall
The comedian has managed to get his proper English father to appear with him onstage, like at their 2013 stage show in London, Him & Me, and they've traveled around the world together for the Netflix show, Jack Whitehall: Travels With My Father. "We’ve always been very close and had a lot in common. I was a bit of an odd child apparently. I liked dressing up and being stupid. Dad was a lot more like me than he would like to remember when he was growing up, according to my mum," Jack told RadioTimes in 2015. "He was always very caring, he had grumps and grumbles and he had a temper, but he was a very loving father. He came to all my school plays and football matches at Marlborough College – I just wish I’d been better at football because he would always end up getting in trouble for shouting too loudly and haranguing referees."

Nick, a former journalist, opened up to ET about how his son is as a father to twins Alexander and Ella with wife Amal Clooney. "Since the word came out that he was going to be a father, no question about it, he changed," the proud grandfather said in 2017. "This has nothing to do with age, but this is a different kind of maturity. When you figure out that you're going to take that standard responsibility that everybody else has done for years, and now you're on the merry-go-round. You're in the middle."
Justin Bieber and Jeremy Bieber
At the 2011 premiere of his documentary, Never Say Never, the Canadian pop star was surrounded by his family, including younger sister Jazmyn, dad Jeremy and mom Pattie Mallette. Bieber's parents had him young and never married, splitting when the singer was a toddler; in a 2015 feature in Rolling Stone, Jeremy and Justin's relationship was described by a source as "almost not like father and son -- it's more like two best friends." The "Yummy" singer shared a photo on Instagram of him and his dad walking in December 2017, saying, "I️ love continuing to get to know my father I️ love working through hard things to get to the good things.. relationships are worth fighting for especially with family!! Mathew often shares throwback pics from his daughter's Destiny's Child days. In May 2020, he told Us Weekly of his role in Beyoncé's solo career, "I think I play the role of dad. I don’t play the role as manager. I love my role as father and grandfather. I still play the role as manager with Destiny’s Child, but Beyoncé will make the right decisions. She’s learned the business aspect and there was a growth that all artists have to go through of understanding and learning the artistry, which is different than the business side of it."
Colin Hanks and Tom Hanks
Not only do they look alike, Colin followed his father -- aka America's Dad -- into the world of acting. This is the pair at the 2002 premiere of Road to Perdition.
