Finding love in Hollywood can be hard. Keeping a romance alive can be even harder. From actors to reality TV stars to musicians, here are some of show business' biggest break-ups and most heartbreaking splits of the year.
Olivia Munn and Tucker Roberts
A rep for the Newsroom actress and the Philadelphia Fusion president confirmed to ET in August 2020 that the two broke up amicably at the end of 2019. The pair was first linked in December 2018, after they were spotted holding hands while out in Los Angeles. Munn made her relationship Instagram official in November 2019, after attending her friend's Day of the Dead celebration. US Weekly was first to report the split. ET spoke with Munn about her relationship with Roberts in November 2019. At the time, the 40-year-old actress said she was already living her "happily ever after." "I've really come to a realization with myself that I'm already in my happily ever after. And if I want to have kids or want to get married then I'll do that, but it has to add to my life, you know? Everything has to add to my life," she said.
Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry
The Conners star filed for legal separation from her wife on Dec. 27, according to court documents obtained by ET. The 44-year-old actress and 54-year-old former 4 Non Blondes singer have been married for over five years. The two tied the knot in May 2014 and are parents to 4-year-old son Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry. Gilbert is also mom to 15-year-old son Levi and 12-year-old daughter Sawyer, whom she shares with TV producer Allison Adler; she and Adler broke up in August 2011 after a 10-year relationship. ET has reached out to Gilbert and Perry's reps for comment on their split.
Bristol Palin and Janson Moore
While answering fan questions on her Instagram Stories in late December, the former Teen Mom OG star revealed she isn't dating anyone at the moment. "Are you dating anyone?" the fan asked bluntly, to which Palin replied, "Noo." The revelation came just over one month after Palin and Moore, a former quarterback for Texas A&M University, went public with their relationship via Instagram on Nov. 16. At the time, they both shared a since-deleted photo of themselves hanging out on the sidelines of an Aggies football game. This marked Palin's first publicized romance since ending her marriage to Dakota Meyer in 2018, and Moore's first since finalizing his divorce from Makenzie Hausenfluck, his wife of over a year, in August.
Demi Lovato and Austin Wilson
A source confirmed to ET in late December that the "Sorry Not Sorry" singer and the 25-year-old model had broken up after a short romance. The news came after Lovato deleted all photos of her former beau on her Instagram. A source told People that Lovato is "concentrating on herself and her work right now, as well as focusing on her relationship with God. She’s excited for what this next chapter in 2020 will bring." The two were last seen together celebrating Friendsgiving. The former couple made their relationship Instagram official in early November, turning heads when they shared synchronized posts cuddling up to one another and confessing their love to the world.
Channing Tatum and Jessie J
The 39-year-old actor and 31-year-old singer have broken up after just over one year of dating, Us Weekly was first to report. A source told ET there was nothing dramatic and that they remain good friends. ET has reached out to their reps for comment. Last October, a source told ET that Channing and Jessie were dating after his split from his ex-wife, Jenna Dewan, in April 2018. A month after the report broke, Jessie said she was "disappointed" at those comparing her to 39-year-old Jenna. Throughout the course of their relationship, the two had been publicly supportive of one another, including Instagram pics Tatum took of the British singer performing at the 2019 Rock in Rio festival in Brazil and sweet PDA pics.
Teresa and Joe Giudice
The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars have officially split, a source told ET in mid-December. Teresa and Joe, both 47, have been married since October 1999 and have four daughters together, Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana. "Teresa has been living the life of a single mother ever since Joe was incarcerated," the source said. "She has dedicated herself to her children, her career and has focused only on that. She always knew there was a possibility that Joe would get deported but it all happened so fast after his release. Teresa is very realistic about the past. She has known for a while that things weren’t going to work out between them. Their marriage had been through far too much for them to start over. She's ready for a new start for 2020." ET has reached out to Teresa and Joe's reps for comment.
Tension between the pair was obvious when the two had a joint Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen interview in October. Joe was interviewed via satellite from Salerno, Italy, where he was living at his grandmother's house after being deported. Teresa and Joe both accused one another of cheating while they each spent time in prison for fraud charges, though they also both denied it. Teresa also said she didn't know how they could make the marriage work because of their trust issues as well as the physical distance between them, not to mention the fact that they've both changed since serving time in jail. They did reunite in Italy with their kids in early November, however.
Livia and Colin Firth
The actor and his wife have called it quits after 22 years of marriage. The pair announced the news in a joint statement to ET on Dec. 13. "Colin and Livia Firth have separated," the statement read. "They maintain a close friendship and remain united in their love for their children. They kindly ask for privacy. There will be no further comment." The spouses' last public appearance was at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards in Milan, Italy, back in September. They share sons Luca, 18, and Matteo, 16. The Oscar winner also has a 29-year-old son, Will, from a previous relationship.
Elizabeth and William Shatner
The Star Trek star is calling it quits with his wife of 18 years. The actor filed for divorce on Dec. 10, according to court documents obtained by ET. The pair tied the knot in 2001 and don't share any children, and according to TMZ, they have a prenup. Elizabeth is William's fourth wife. He was previously married to Nerine Kidd, Marcy Lafferty and Gloria Rand, while she was previously married to Michael Glenn Martin.
Katie Morton and Chris Bukowski
The Bachelor in Paradise favorites have broken up. In Instagram posts with matching captions on Dec. 10, the formerly engaged couple announced that they have decided to end their romantic relationship. "One of the many lessons this life has taught us is that it’s okay to be stubborn in the pursuit of happiness. To fight for what is real and good, and that often times the hardest thing and the right thing are the same," the caption read in part. "We’ve reached a point in our story where we agree it’s best to go our separate ways. We have chosen to love and respect each other as friends because that’s the base of our relationship, and it’s what is most natural for us." The former couple's engagement was shown on the September finale of BIP. The rocky moments that plagued their time on the dating show, though, became more evident during the reunion portion of the finale when, despite still being engaged to Bukowski at the time, Morton said she was "exhausted" by the whole thing.
Camila Mendes and Charles Melton
The Riverdale stars are taking a break from their relationship, E! News reported on Dec. 4. According to the outlet, the two have already been separated for a few months. ET reached out to the actor's reps for comment. The pair made their relationship Instagram official last October with a sweet PDA pic and celebrated their 1-year anniversary in August.
Avril Lavigne and Phillip Sarofim
The 35-year-old singer split from her billionaire boyfriend after one year of dating, ET learned in late November. Lavigne began dating Sarofim, who is the son of Texan billionaire Fayez Sarofim, in February 2018. Previously, the Canadian pop star was married to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley. As for being divorced twice? Lavigne told Billboard last October that she had no regrets, proclaiming, “I love love. The way I looked at it is, I married my long-terms.”
Justin Hartley and Chrishell Stause
The This Is Us star filed for divorce from his wife in Los Angeles on Nov. 22 after two years of marriage. The actor listed irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce from the Selling Sunset star, per documents obtained by ET, and listed July 8 as the date of separation. A week and a half after Hartley filed, Stause responded with her own filing for dissolution of marriage, also citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents acquired by ET though she listed their date of separation as the day he filed for divorce, not July. Interestingly enough, the two still very much appeared to be together after July 8, for example, when they posed on the red carpet together at the 10th Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles on Oct. 5. A source tells ET that Stause was blindsided by Hartley's divorce filing. Hartley met the Kentucky native on the set of The Young and the Restless and after nearly three years of dating, the actor proposed. They tied the knot at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California, in October 2017.
Eva Amurri and Kyle Martino
In matching Instagram posts on Friday, the couple, who tied the knot in 2011, announced that they are splitting up. The news comes just over two months after Amurri, 34, and Martino, 38, announced that they're expecting their third child in spring 2020. "Our family is starting down a new path. After a lot of thoughtful consideration, and work on our relationship, we have made the difficult decision to lovingly part ways as a couple," the pair captioned a smiling shot of their family. "We are committed to, and excited about, raising our three beautiful children as close friends and deep partners, and we have the utmost respect for one another. We feel so grateful for the wonderful gifts we have created and received throughout our decade together. We have realized over time that the best path to happiness for us as a family is in this different direction, and we look forward to forging ahead into a new beautiful relationship. We appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate this new transition for our family." Amurri, who's the daughter of Susan Sarandon, and her soccer analyst husband already have two children, Marlowe, 5, and Major, 3. The pair welcomed Major after suffering a miscarriage in 2015.
Opal Stone and Ron Perlman
The Sons of Anarchy star has filed for divorce from his wife of 38 years. According to documents obtained by ET, the actor filed papers for a dissolution of his marriage at the Stanley Most Courthouse in Los Angeles on Nov. 5. According to multiple outlets, Perlman cites irreconcilable differences and states a separation date of May 10, 2019. The actor married the jewelry-and-fashion designer on Valentine’s Day 1981 and are parents to a daughter, Blake, and a son, Brandon.
Reba McEntire and Skeeter Lasuzzo
The country music icon has called it quits with her wildlife photographer beau after two years together, a rep for the country singer confirmed to ET on Nov. 5. "Skeeter and I broke up in May, so, unfortunately, we will not be spending [the holidays] together," McEntire told US Weekly. "We still talk and we’re friends, but just decided to go our separate ways." Back in April, McEntire gushed about Lasuzzo while talking with ET ahead of the Academy of Country Music Awards, saying, "We're having a great time, traveling the world and seeing things and having fun." McEntire met Lasuzzo in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and they started dating in 2017.
Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson
Knowles and her husband of almost five years are going their separate ways. The 33-year-old singer announced the news via Instagram on Nov. 1 and shared that she and 56-year-old music video director split earlier this year. The "Don't Touch My Hair" singer still calls Ferguson a "phenomenal man" and says he changed her life. The two started dating in 2008 after being introduced by Janelle Monae and tied the knot in Novemver 2014 in front of family and friends at the Holy Trinity Church in New Orleans. Knowles was previously married to Daniel Smith, with whom she shares her 15-year-old son, Daniel Julez J. Smith Jr. The two divorced in 2007 after three years of marriage.
Erin and Ian Ziering
The BH90210 actor took to Instagram on Oct. 31 to announce that he and his wife are separating. "It is with a heavy heart that I tell you Erin and I are splitting up," he wrote. "With our hectic work schedules we could not be busier, and over the last few years have grown apart. She is one of the most incredible women I have ever met and the best mom to our kids." The pair -- who tied the knot in May 2010, in a ceremony in Newport Beach, California -- share two daughters, 8-year-old Mia and 6-year-old Penna. This is the New Jersey native's second split after his divorce from playboy model Nikki Schieler in 2002 after nearly five years of marriage.
Janelle Evans and David Eason
The former Teen Mom 2 star is moving on from her husband after a tumultuous year. The 27-year-old reality star took to social media on Oct. 30 to share her decision with her fans. "I've mostly kept off social media the past few days because I've been focused on making some big life decisions," she wrote. "I've lived my life on camera since I was 17 years old. And a lot of it hasn't been pretty. But it's been my life." She went on to say that time away from Teen Mom 2 since her firing in May has allowed her to reexamine her life and choices. "I know I need to make changes. I'm starting that now," she wrote. "The kids and I have moved away from David. Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that's what is best for me, and for my kids. Today I've filed papers to start that process." She told her fans that she and her three children are "doing great," teasing, "You'll hear from us again soon." Evans has three children; she shares daughter 2-year-old daughter Ensley with Eason, 5-year-old son Kaiser with ex Nathan Griffith and 10-year-old son Jace with ex Andrew Lewis.
Demi Burnett and Kristian Haggerty
The Bachelor in Paradise couple has ended their engagement, they announced on Oct. 30. Burnett and Haggerty were Bachelor Nation's first same-sex relationship; their historic proposal aired on the season 6 finale of BiP in September. "What has always been at the forefront of our relationship is love and care for one another. Our priority is doing what is best for us. With a heavy heart full of love for one another we have decided it is best for us to take a step back from our relationship. We ultimately want what is best for us in the long run and for us right now, that means being apart and growing individually," Burnett wrote in part on Instagram, with Haggerty posting an identical statement on her account.
Niecy Nash and Jay Tucker
The Claws actress took to Instagram on Oct. 30 to announce that she and her husband of eight years were splitting up. "We believe in the beauty of truth. Always have," the post read. "Our truth is that in this season of our lives, we are better friends than partners in marriage. Our union was such a gorgeous ride. And as we go our separate ways now, we feel fortunate for the love we share -- present tense." ET has reached out to the actress' rep for comment. Nash called her Malibu wedding to Tucker, an electrical engineer, a "dream come true" in an interview with Life & Style magazine in 2011. Her good friend, Sherri Shepherd, was a bridesmaid, while singer Brandy performed "At Last" for the couple's first dance. ET last spoke to Nash at the 2019 Emmys in September, where she brought along a gal-pal.
Morgan Stewart and Brendan Fitzpatrick
These Rich Kids are going their separate ways. According to court records, Stewart filed for divorce from Fitzpatrick on Oct. 25. The news came after it was revealed that the Rick Kids of Beverly Hills stars separated in August. Last month, ET confirmed that Fitzpatrick was dating Bachelor alum Amanda Stanton, who broke up with Bobby Jacobs six months ago. Stewart and Fitzpatrick tied the knot in May 2016 and have no children together.
Meghan King and Jim Edmonds
The former baseball pro filed for divorce on Oct. 25, according to Us Weekly. ET has reached out to the couple for comment. After news of their split broke shortly after their five-year wedding anniversary, Jim defended himself amid reports that he and his wife split due to his alleged infidelity, as Us Weekly previously reported that the pair broke up after the Real Housewives of Orange County star accused her husband of cheating on her with one of their nannies. ET has reached out to the couple for comment. The pair originally tied the knot in 2014 and share 2-year-old daughter Aspen and 16-month-old twin boys, Hayes and Hart.
Christina Hendricks and Geoffrey Arend
The couple shared a joint statement to social media on Oct. 17 -- almost 10 years to the day they wed in 2009 -- announcing that they were splitting amicably. "Twelve years ago we fell in love and became partners. We joined our two amazing families, had countless laughs, made wonderful friends and were blessed with incredible opportunities," the statement read. "Today we take our next step together, but on separate paths. We will always be grateful for the love we've shared and will always work together to raise our two beautiful dogs. We will be taking time to rediscover ourselves in this transition and we thank you for your patience and support in giving us the space to do so."
Odette and Dave Annable
The actors are splitting after nine years of marriage, they announced in a joint statement to ET on Oct 15. "It’s with heavy hearts that we have come to the mutual decision to separate at this time," the statement reads. "Our daughter is our primary concern and we remain committed to co-parenting her together. We ask that you please respect our family’s privacy at this time." People was first to report the split. The Annables got married in October 2010 and welcomed daughter Charlie in September 2015.
Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Jen Harley
The pair's relationship has likely come to an end. A source tells ET that the former couple -- who share a 1-year-old daughter, Ariana -- will not get back together following Ortiz-Magro's arrest for alleged domestic violence earlier this month. The source says that the duo, who have not spoken since the night of the alleged incident, is dealing with the aftermath of their latest ordeal the best they can. The source claimed, however, that their friends consider the pair's relationship toxic and think that nothing good will come of it."They are over for good," the source said. Ortiz-Magro, the source added, is "100% committed to doing what’s best for his daughter and is cooperating with law enforcement and the legal teams involved."
Previously, Ortiz-Magro and Harley had a tumultuous end to 2018, calling it quits briefly before New Year's Eve and then getting back together, only to end the year by getting in another massive scuffle, leading to their latest breakup. The combative couple reportedly got into a screaming altercation that allegedly got physical, one source told E! News. They had a series of incidents throughout 2019 as well.
Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner
The reality star and the Astroworld rapper have decided to take a break from their relationship, according to multiple reports on Oct. 1. The pair reportedly tried to make things work but have chosen to step away for the time being, TMZ reported. They were last seen together in public at the premiere of Scott's new Netflix documentary, Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly, in August, where they packed on the PDA on the red carpet and coddled their 20-month-old daughter, Stormi Webster. Jenner and Scott first sparked romance rumors in April 2017. For over a year before their split, the couple was continuously the focus of engagement rumors and took to calling each other "husband" and "wife," prompting many fans to believe that they'd secretly gotten married. Earlier this year, the pair weathered a supposed cheating scandal when Scott faced rumors and allegations of cheating, which he vehemently denied. ET has reached out to reps for both Jenner and Scott for comment.
"Kylie and Travis haven’t been together as a couple for roughly a month, but they’re on good terms," a source told ET on Oct. 2. "The couple has been hot and cold since their last breakup, and haven’t been able to fully get on the same page again. They are both extremely busy with different schedules and since Kylie found out about Travis messaging another girl on Instagram, the rebuilding of trust has been hard. Although they aren’t together now, they’re both open to getting back together in the future. Above all, Kylie and Travis know their priority will and always has been Stormi.”
Sandra Lee and Andrew Cuomo
The Food Network star and author and the New York governor have broken up after 14 years together, multiple sources report. "Over the recent past, we have realized that our lives have gone in different directions and our romantic relationship has turned into a deep friendship," the couple said in a joint statement on Sept. 25, which was first reported by Zack Fink via Twitter. "We will always be family and are fully supportive of each other and dedicated to the girls. Our personal lives remain personal and there will be no further comment." Cuomo has three adult daughters from his marriage to Kerry Kennedy, daughter of Robert F. and Ethel Kennedy, while Lee was previously married to Los Angeles businessmen Bruce Karatz.
Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter
The "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" singer and The Hills: New Beginnings star have called it quits after almost two months of dating, a source told ET on Sept. 21. "Miley and Kaitlynn are no longer together romantically. They have been there for each other through tough times recently but decided it's best to be friends," the source said. The news came a week after the two were spotted cozying up in matching outfits while out and about in Los Angeles. Cyrus and Carter were first snapped kissing during their trip to Italy in pictures obtained by ET on Aug. 10. Shortly after, Cyrus' rep confirmed that she and her longtime love, Liam Hemsworth, had separated after less than a year of marriage, and after a decade of dating on and off. Hemsworth officially filed for divorce on Aug. 21.
Kenya Moore and Marc Daly
The Real Housewives of Atlanta star and her husband are calling it quits after two years of marriage. “It is with profound sadness that I regret to inform my fans that I am divorcing my husband Marc Daly," Moore said in a statement to ET on Sept. 19. "Due to recent and ongoing circumstances, I can no longer continue in the marriage. My sole concern and focus is and will always be my daughter, Brooklyn, my miracle baby. She was made in love and true commitment. I ask for our privacy to be respected moving forward." The couple married in a sunset ceremony in St. Lucia in June 2017 and welcomed their first child, Brooklyn, in November 2018. In a statement to People, Daly said, "I have come to the difficult decision to separate from Kenya at this time. Our daughter has two parents that love her very much and in her best interests, this situation should remain as private as possible. I cherish our family’s good times together and will continue to co-parent in a loving way." Just three days before the news of their split broke, the couple and their daughter made their first TV appearance as a family on The Tamron Hall Show.
Lauren Alaina and John Crist
Just before her big debut on Dancing With the Stars on Sept. 16, the 24-year-old singer revealed that she and the 35-year-old comedian had split up. During an interview with current DWTS champ Bobby Bones, Alaina shared that she doesn't "have a boyfriend anymore." "I mean, there's, like, no big story," she explained. "We were like, best friends before we dated, and we’re still best friends. It just didn’t work out. I guess that’s how dating goes, right?" The Bobby Bones Show was also where Alaina initially confirmed her relationship with Crist back in May. The American Idol alumna was previously set to walk down the aisle with longtime boyfriend Alex Hopkins, whom she began dating in 2013 and broke up with in January, six months after getting engaged.
Danielle Staub and Oliver Maier
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her fiancé have split and ended their engagement, according to multiple outlets in mid-September. ET has reached out to Staub's rep for comment. Staub, 57, and the venture capitalist and Duke of Provence got engaged in February during a trip to St. Barth, just days after her divorce from former baseball player Marty Caffrey was finalized. At the time, the reality star's rep confirmed to ET that the pair would get married on March 4 at New York City's Justice of the Peace church. However, a couple of days later, a source told ET that Staub had postponed her wedding. This was her 21st engagement and would have been her fourth trip down the aisle.
Tom and Jennifer DeLonge
Blink-182 may have a song called "Stay Together for the Kids," but, unfortunately, the California punk rocker and his wife are splitting, ET can confirm. Tom -- who has focused on his side project, Angels & Airwaves, since leaving Blink-182 four years ago -- filed for divorce in San Diego on Sept. 3, listing the date of separation as December 2017 and citing "irreconcilable differences." The couple wed in May 2001 and share two children, 17-year-old daughter, Ava, and 13-year-old son, Jonas.
Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik
The 39-year-old actress and the 47-year-old film producer announced they're separating after four years of marriage in a joint statement to ET on Sept. 6. "After much discussion and a long period of contemplation we have decided we are better off as friends, business partners and co-parents rather than life partners," their statement read. "We remain committed to our business, our values, and most of all, our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy at this time." The pair share two children, 4-year-old daughter Elise and 2-year-old son Charlie. Deschanel and Pechenik got married in June 2015 in an intimate ceremony, after less than a year of dating.
Rachael Harris and Christian Hebel
The Lucifer star filed for divorce from her violinist husband of four years on Aug. 21, ET can confirm. After getting engaged in Capri, Italy, in September 2014, the pair wed at New York City's City Hall about eight months later. Harris, 51, and Hebel, 43, share two sons, Henry, 3, and Otto, 1.
Shawn and Larry King
The 85-year-old TV host has filed for divorce from his seventh wife after 22 years of marriage, ET confirmed. Larry married Shawn in 1997. They both filed for divorce 13 years later in April 2010, but they did not go through with it. In 2016, reports surfaced that Shawn, 59, had an alleged affair with another man. However, she and Larry sat down for a joint interview on the Hallmark Channel's Home & Family, where they presented a united front. "I've been in the business next May for 60 years, and I've dealt with rumors for a long time," Larry said at the time. "I've dealt with people involved with rumors, and rumors are what they are -- they're rumors -- and to tell you the truth, I don't pay any attention to them." Larry and Shawn have two sons together, Chance, 20, and Cannon, 19.
Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx
After six years of dating, the actors are going their separate ways, Page Six was first to report. According to multiple reports, the two ended their relationship in May. ET has reached out to Foxx and Holmes' reps. News of the split came after Foxx, 51, was spotted holding hands with singer Sela Vave while out in Los Angeles in mid-August, though a source told ET that Vave is a singer-songwriter Foxx is helping. The pair was first romantically linked in 2013, one year after Holmes divorced Tom Cruise. Holmes, 40, and Foxx were extremely private about their relationship and did not make a public appearance together until Clive Davis' Pre-GRAMMYs Gala in New York City in 2018. Though they never confirmed they were dating, they were spotted showing PDA on multiple occasions, including being snapped kissing on a yacht in Miami after a source told ET that Foxx had won over Holmes' daughter, Suri. They were last spotted together in March as they took a stroll by New York City's Central Park.
Sam Claflin and Laura Haddock
The couple has decided to separate after six years of marriage, Claflin announced on Aug. 19. "Laura and I have decided to legally separate. We will move forward with nothing but love, friendship and a deep respect for one another, whilst we continue to raise our family together," he said in a statement written in white text on a red background, posted to his Instagram Story. "We won't be commenting on this further. Thank you in advance for your support and respecting our privacy at this time. Both of us x." Claflin and Haddock, both 33, met during an audition for 2011's My Week With Marilyn. They married in July 2013 and have two children, 3-year-old son Pip and 18-month-old daughter Margot.
Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus
Fans were shocked when Cyrus and Hemsworth announced that they had parted ways after tying the knot just a few months earlier in Decemebr 2018. The "Mother's Daughter" singers rep confirmed to ET on Aug. 10, saying, "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy." The news came one day after Cyrus was spotted locking lips with Brody Jenner's ex, Kaitlynn Carter, in Lake Como, Italy. In the pics, the pair can be seen cuddling, kissing and swimming together while poolside. The pair met on the set of 2009's The Last Song, got engaged in 2012 and broke up for the first time in 2013. They rekindled their relationship in 2016.
Antoni Porowski and Trace Lehnhoff
The Queer Eye star and his boyfriend have broken up, a source close to the situation told ET on Aug. 6. ET has learned that the relationship ran its course and things just didn't work out. A source says Porowski is concentrating on work right now. Porowski and Lehnhoff, who starred on Bravo's Flipping Out from 2009 to 2011, became Instagram official last December following rumors that the two were an item. The reveal came just a few days after they made their red carpet debut at GQ's Men of the Year party in Beverly Hills, California.
Aaron Carter and Lina Valentina
The 31-year-old singer has split from his girlfriend after nearly one year of dating, ET confirmed in early August. "Lina and I have decided to go our separate ways," Carter said in a statement to ET. "I was really hoping this would be the one that lasted forever. We had even talked about having kids, but we couldn’t seem to get past our differences and the relationship eventually turned unhealthy. I've been through so much the past few years and am trying to learn from my mistakes. I don't have any regrets being with Lina, and I definitely learned a lot about myself. I think this decision was the mature thing to do. I'm going to keep focusing on my music, my tour and my fans." Carter revealed his romance with Valentina to fans last September.
Valentina's last Instagram posts with Carter came in May, including one of the pair posing naked together during a highly stylized photo shoot. Shortly after news of their split broke, the Russian-American artist shared a seemingly pointed message on Instagram, captioning a solo pic of herself, "Have you ever tried saving someone from their own darkness so badly that you’ve set yourself on fire just to light the way? ??."
Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter
The couple has decided to go their separate ways after five years together. Jenner and Carter's reps confirmed the news in a statement given to ET, saying, "Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter have decided to amicably separate. They love and respect one another, and know that this is the best decision for their relationship moving forward." The Hills: New Beginnings stars began dating in 2014, got engaged in 2016 and wed in Bali in June 2018. However, a source close to the couple tells ET that the two were never legally married. "They never did it in the U.S., so it wasn’t legal. But they had a wedding in Indonesia," the source says, adding that Jenner and Carter had been having problems for some time. PageSix was the first to report the breakup. The news of their split comes a month after MTV renewed The Hills reboot for a second season; the couple's relationship woes were seen on screen during the first season.
Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart
The Riverdale stars have called it quits after nearly two years together, according to multiple reports. The news comes just days after they attended Comic-Con with their co-stars. While things didn't appear out of the ordinary during their Hall H panel on Sunday, where Sprouse and Reinhart were seated next to each other, an eyewitness tells ET that the pair kept their distance at a party the night before. "They were both at Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con party on Saturday, but not together," the eyewitness said. "Lili spent most of the night with her female co-stars, Camila [Mendes] and Madelaine [Petsch] and Britt Robertson, while Cole was on the other side of the party, hanging out with different friends and vaping." Sprouse and Reinhart also stopped by ET's Comic-Con suite for an interview with ET's Leanne Aguilera on Saturday, where they assured fans that their Riverdale characters, Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper, were still "going strong." A few days later, however, Sprouse and Reinhart clapped back at the various reports, sharing a sexy photo from their new feature in W magazine.
Adrianne Palicki and Scott Grimes
Two months after tying the knot in May, the Orville co-stars called it quits. Palicki filed for divorce from Grimes on July 22, according to court documents obtained by ET. The split came shortly after the one-year anniversary of the couple going public with their relationship at the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con. The pair revealed their engagement in January, and tied the knot on May 19. This is the first marriage for Palicki and the third for Grimes.
Camila Cabello and Matthew Hussey
The "Havana" singer and her boyfriend of a year and a half have parted ways, ET learned in late June. The breakup news came just a week after the 22-year-old songstress and Shawn Mendes released the steamy music video for their new duet, "Señorita." The hit-making singer and her dating-expert beau had been romantically involved since the winter of 2018, when the pair was photographed cuddling on the beach while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. However, besides a joint appearance at the 2019 Vanity Fair Oscars party, they have largely kept their romance out of the spotlight since. Shortly after the breakup news became public, Cabello and Mendes were spotted packing on the PDA, though Mendes previously denied that they were dating.
Allison Williams and Ricky Van Veen
Williams and Van Veen have split after four years of marriage. "With mutual love and respect, we have made the decision to separate as a couple. We are grateful for the friendship that we have and will continue to have," they said in a joint statement to ET on June 27. The pair -- who were last seen together at the Oscars in March 2018 -- met at a Bachelor viewing party in 2011 and married in September 2015. Williams and Van Veen, co-founder of CollegeHumor and Vimeo, tied the knot in a ceremony officiated by Tom Hanks at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming. The actress' father, Brian Williams, walked her down the aisle, with stars like Lena Dunham, John Mayer, Zosia Mamet, Jemima Kirke, Seth Meyers and Katy Perry in attendance. The couple had been private about their romance in the public eye.
Laverne Cox and Kyle Draper
Cox announced her split from Draper in a lengthy Instagram post on June 28, explaining how the two had decided to part ways after "much soul searching and tears."
"We know our relationship meant so much to so many people, especially trans folks, giving them hope that this kind of love is possible for them as well," the transgender Orange Is the New Black star wrote. "That hope, the hope for love has not waned for me in the face of this breakup but rather is fortified. Knowing that we are both capable of giving and receiving love with this level of kindness, respect, trust, affection, depth, and intensity has been so healing and life affirming for us both." The two had been dating since 2017 after meeting on Tinder.
Rachael Leigh Cook and Daniel Gillies
On June 13, the She's All That star and The Vampire Diaries actor posted a heartfelt statement announcing their split to Cook's Instagram, captioning the post with a simple heart emoji. "With deep gratitude for every year we have spent together and the thousands of beautiful memories shared, we have mutually decided to separate as a couple," the joint note read. "This decision isn't one we have come to easily or lightly. We love and respect each other as parents, people and artists and look forward to maintaining the best parts of our relationship for many years to come. Your discretion in this matter is kindly requested for the sake of our children during this time of transition. Thank you to those of you who are already aware; for your tremendous compassion and understanding." Cook and Gillies began dating in 2001 and tied the knot in August 2004. They share two children, 5-year-old daughter Charlotte and 4-year-old son Theodore.
Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk
News broke on June 6 that Cooper and Shayk were going their separate ways, but a source close to the couple told ET that despite calling it quits after four years of dating, the two are remaining amicable for their 2-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine. "Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk have had problems for a while and decided it was best to end their relationship," the source said. "The two have nothing but love and respect for one another, but realized their relationship ran its course and the best thing to do was keep it amicable for their daughter. The split is new for them, and having a daughter involved makes it hard but they've been doing a great job of co-parenting and will continue to do so as their daughter is their No. 1 priority. The couple isn't sure that the split will be forever, they just knew at this time, being apart was for the best."
A second source told ET on Friday that Cooper and Shayk's split was "no surprise," and that it was a long time coming. The two were first linked together in April 2015, after Cooper split from British model Suki Waterhouse and Shayk broke up with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo. Both have been notoriously private about their relationship and only made their red carpet debut together at last year's Met Gala.
Joey Fatone and Kelly Baldwin
The *NSYNC singer and his wife are officially going their separate ways. Fatone filed for divorce from his estranged wife on May 13. The couple has been separated for the last few years, and he's been dating Izabel Araujo. ET has reached out to Fatone's rep for comment. Fatone and Baldwin married in 2004 and share two children together, 18-year-old Briahna and 9-year-old Kloey. While pregnant with Kloey, Baldwin faced serious health complications, and Fatone told ET in 2017 that Kloey's autism diagnosis tested him and Baldwin as parents. "It has tested us a lot," he shared. "She's on the spectrum of autism and there are all different types, so everyone handles their child differently, but we handle it as we go, like most parents."
Kendall Jenner and Ben Simmons
Jenner is a single lady again, a source told ET. The 23-year-old model has been linked to the NBA star since last May, but a source told ET they are no longer a couple. However, that doesn't mean their relationship is over for good. "Kendall and Ben are not together, but the two are on good terms," the source said. "Both Kendall and Ben are extremely busy, and for now the relationship doesn't work for them. Kendall and Ben have taken breaks in the past and have gotten back together. They are really good at knowing when the relationship works for them and when it doesn't. Kendall is looking forward to a busy summer of working, but also spending time with her friends."
In February, the notoriously private Jenner confirmed that she'd been dating 22-year-old Simmons "for a bit now" during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Prior to her admission, the two weren't exactly keeping their relationship a secret -- they've left flirty Instagram comments on each other's posts, and Jenner frequently attended the Philadelphia 76ers point guard's NBA games. But they've been rumored to have split before -- last September, rumors swirled that Jenner and Simmons broke up as she spent time with model Anwar Hadid.
Adele and Simon Konecki
The powerhouse singer and her husband have split after eight years together. "Adele and her partner have separated," Adele's rep said in a statement to The Associated Press in mid-April. "They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment." The pair began dating in 2011 and welcomed a son, Angelo, the following year. After reports circulated in January 2017 that the two had wed, as they were wearing matching rings on their ring fingers, Adele confirmed that she and Konecki were married during a concert in Australia that March.
Skylar Astin and Anna Camp
The Pitch Perfect stars have called it quits after a little more than two years of marriage, a source tells ET. "The couple was having issues for a while and decided at the end of last year it was time to call it quits," the source said. "They spent New Year’s Eve together but since then haven't been together. The two don't follow one another on Instagram and are slowly trying to move on. Anna and Skylar have a deep love for one another and wish the best for each other. It just wasn't working for the couple." Additionally, Astin and Camp released a joint statement to People, who was first to report the news, saying, "We can confirm that we have decided to separate, and this decision was made mutually and amicably. We kindly ask for privacy as we navigate this transition." Astin, 31, and Camp, 36, started dating in 2013 after meeting on the set of Pitch Perfect and wed three years later in September 2016.
Michelle Williams and Phil Elverum
The newlyweds have split after less than a year of marriage. The news came after Williams was spotted without her wedding band at several public outings. "Michelle and Phil separated at the beginning of the year. It was an amicable spilt and they remain friends," a source close to the situation told People. The Fosse/Verdon star revealed her marriage to the singer-songwriter in a July 2018 interview with Vanity Fair, sharing that they had quietly tied the knot in the Adirondacks earlier that month.
Williams was previously in a relationship with Heath Ledger, who died in 2008 following an accidental drug overdose. The pair shared a now 13-year-old daughter, Matilda. Elverum's marriage to Williams was his second. He was previously married to Genevieve Castree, who died in 2016. The two shared a now 3-year-old daughter, Agathe.
Bella Thorne and Mod Sun
The trio has officially disbanded. Thorne appeared to announce she and the "HappyBB" rapper broke up via a social media post on the morning of April 15. The Famous in Love star shared a photo of the two on Instagram, along with a caption declaring all good things “must come to an end.” Thorne was publicly in an open relationship with Sun, as well as 20-year-old YouTube star Tana Mongeau, for nearly a year. She announced she was no longer seeing Mongeau in February.
Andy Richter and Sarah Thyre
After 27 years of marriage, Conan O'Brien's mainstay sidekick and his writer wife are divorcing. They each shared the news via Twitter on April 13, with Richter writing, “It is with sadness that Sarah and I announce that we have separated and have begun divorce proceedings. We are extremely proud of the life we’ve built together and shared with so many friends over the years, and even though our marriage has reached its completion we will always maintain a loving friendship and parenting partnership.” Richter and Thyre have two children together, 18-year-old son William and 12-year-old daughter Mercy.
Amanda Stanton and Bobby Jacobs
The Bachelor alum's relationship has bitten the dust. Though the pair had recently moved in together, Jacobs confirmed that the two called it quits via social media on April 5, noting in his Instagram comments that no one cheated after fans asked for an update after days of split speculation. As for Stanton, she headed to Las Vegas that same day for a "girls weekend" noting in her Instagram Stories that she was going through a tough time. "Not to be depressing, I know I’ve talked about it too much, but I’m obviously going through a bit of a rough patch right now," the 28-year-old reality star shared with her followers. "I’m just going to try to focus on the good. I have so much to be thankful for, I have so much to be happy about. I’m healthy, my kids are healthy, that’s really all that matters. And I’m just not going to let it affect me as much as it has been the last couple of weeks." Stanton and Jacobs, a Tillow co-founder and pro beach volleyball player, met on Instagram and started dating in February 2018, with the reality star even saying her two daughters, Kinsley and Charlie, viewed Jacobs as a "father figure."
Nicolas Cage and Erika Koike
It seems the spark didn't last long between the 55-year-old actor and his brand new wife. Cage filed for an annulment from Koike on March 27 in Las Vegas, just four days after they tied the knot in secret, according to court documents obtained by ET. The court record shows that the Face/Off star requested a divorce if an annulment is not possible. The wedding came less than a year after the pair began dating last April. Cage has been previously married three times, to Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, then Lisa Marie Presley from 2002 to 2004, and once more to former waitress Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016. Cage and Kim share a 13-year-old son named Kal-El, and the actor is also the father of a 28-year-old son Weston, from his previous relationship with actress Christina Fulton.
Monica and Shannon Brown
The R&B singer filed for divorce from her basketball player husband, according to TMZ. The pair wed in November 2010 and have a 5-year-old daughter, Laiyah. Monica also has two older sons, Rodney and Romelo, with rapper Rocko, while Brown has a son named Christopher from a previous relationship.
Demi Lovato and Henry Levy
A source close to the "Tell Me You Love Me" singer confirmed to ET on March 5 that her relationship with the fashion designer has ended, adding that contrary to tabloid speculation, Levy was never Lovato's sober companion. The split, first reported by People, came four months after the singer was first romantically linked to Levy, who is the controversial designer of the couture fashion line Enfants Riches Déprimé, which is French for "Depressed Rich Kids." A source told ET at the time that the two "met a few years ago in rehab," and that they "hit it off immediately and became fast friends." The news of their split comes one day after a source told ET that Lovato is still sober and committed to her sobriety and has cut ties with everyone on her team to start fresh.
Zachary Quinto and Miles McMillan
The 41-year-old actor and his boyfriend of six years amicably broke up earlier this year, but news of their split came after they were spotted at separate Oscars parties in late February, with Quinto being photographed at the Vanity Fair party and McMillan at Elton John's annual soiree. Quinto and McMillan had been dating since 2013. They moved in together in New York City two years later and by 2017 sparked engagement rumors after Quinto was spotted wearing a silver band on his left ring finger.
Bella Thorne and Tana Mongeau
The former Disney Channel star and the YouTube personality are no longer romantically involved. Thorne took to Twitter on Feb. 26 to respond to fans' questions about the status of their relationship and revealed that the pair called it quits. "Tana and I aren’t together anymore, pls stop asking," she wrote. "We love U guys." Mongeau also confirmed the news to fans via Twitter, stressing that there is no drama or "negativity" between the two women. Thorne had publicly been in an open relationship with Mongeau and rocker Mod Sun, which was part of her self-described polyamorous romantic lifestyle. Mongeau also had her own serious boyfriend, internet star (and Justin Bieber doppelganger) Brad Sousa.
Charlie Weber and Liza Weil
Their relationship may have ended, but it was in far less dramatic fashion than literally anything that has ever happened on their ABC drama, How to Get Away With Murder. Weber confirmed his and Weil's breakup to People on Feb. 21, saying, “Liza and I share an amazing relationship rooted in love and respect. That relationship has found its way back to the great friendship we’ve always had. We will continue to support each other and will always love working together." The co-stars began dating in the summer of 2016, two years after their show hit the airwaves. Weil was previously married to her Scandal co-star, Paul Adelstein, with whom she shares one daughter, while Weber reportedly filed for divorce from his wife of less than one year, Giselle, in 2016.
Morgan Petek and Jerrod Niemann
The country singer and his wife are no longer "lover, lover." Niemann and Petek released a statement to People on Feb. 19, explaining, "After spending over a decade together, we have decided to move forward separately. We have learned and grown into the people we are today. We wish each other all the best in the future.” The "I Got This" singer and the nurse practitioner -- who actually finalized their divorce in December -- wed in Puerto Rico in October 2014 and have no kids.
Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Ten months after Thompson made headlines when he reportedly cheated on Kardashian with multiple women while she was pregnant with their daughter, True, a source told ET that the pair broke up after more than two years of dating. The two eventually reconciled after their baby girl's birth last April. "There were trust issues again and she has been down that road before," the source said. "She has to be strong for herself and True. Everyone is extremely disappointed." On Feb. 19, the NBA player tweeted, "FAKE NEWS," before deleting it shortly after.
Lady Gaga and Christian Carino
The couple has ended their engagement, with a source telling ET there was no drama between the two. The relationship just came to an end.ET first confirmed the two were dating in February 2017 after they shared some PDA ahead of Gaga's epic Super Bowl performance. After keeping their romance mostly private, Mother Monster confirmed her engagement to Carino last October during a speech. Though the couple attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards together in January, she was noticeably not wearing her engagement ring at the GRAMMY Awards in early February, nor did she thank Carino in her acceptance speech that night, which she's done at various awards shows in the past. Gaga previously ended her engagement to actor Taylor Kinney in 2016.
Tinsley Mortimer and Scott Kluth
The on-and-off couple is off again. The Real Housewives of New York City star split from her boyfriend -- a Chicagoan whom she met through her former co-star, Carole Radziwill, during the ninth season of their reality season -- in late February, according to Us Weekly. They first split in June 2018, with the outlet reporting then that the pair had "a complicated relationship," before getting back together two months later.
Beck and Marissa Ribisi
The GRAMMY winner reportedly filed papers for divorce from his wife of nearly 15 years on Feb. 16, according to The Blast. Beck and Ribisi wed in April 2004 and they have two children, 14-year-old son Cosimo and 11-year-old daughter Tuesday. The indie musician was noticeably without Ribisi at the GRAMMY Awards earlier in the month, bringing his daughter as his date for the evening instead.
Jeff Lewis and Gage Edwards
The Flipping Out stars are going their separate ways. Lewis shared the news on his SiriusXM radio show, Jeff Lewis Live, on Jan. 31, revealing that his partner of nearly 10 years had moved out of their home the night before. Lewis and Edward, who are also business partners, welcomed daughter Monroe via surrogate in October 2016. The 48-year-old real estate developer said that his split from Edward was a "long time coming" and that they were living in separate rooms for a portion of 2018.
Tom Arnold and Ashley Groussman
The 59-year-old actor confirmed to ET that he and his wife are splitting after nearly 10 years of marriage. “For the last couple years we grew apart and have been moving in different directions, which is why at this time we have decided to end our marriage," Arnold said in a statement. "I told Ashley that it's her life, we had great years together and there doesn't have to be a reason or a bad guy to move on. Go live your life, you owe me nothing." Arnold and Groussman wed in November of 2009 and share two children together, 5-year-old son Jax and 3-year-old daughter Quinn. Previously, Arnold was married to Roseanne Barr from 1990 to 1994, Julie Armstrong from 1995 to 1999, and Shelby Roos from 2002 to 2008.
Lauren Alaina and Alex Hopkins
After six years together, the road has come to an end for the "Ladies in the '90s" singer and her high school sweetheart. Alaina and Hopkins took to their respective social media pages on Jan. 21 to announce the news that they'd decided to end their relationship after getting engaged last summer. "Over the last several years, you have been so supportive of us through all of our ups and downs," the pair wrote in a joint statement. "You share your lives with us, and we always want to be open with you in return. We want to let you know that we have called off our engagement. While we still have love for each other, we’ve grown into very different people over the last six years. We are now in a place where we are each looking forward to starting our own fresh, new chapters of our lives." The pair first started dating in 2013, two years after Alaina competed on American Idol.
Adriana Lima and Metin Hara
Looks like Lima is back on the market! The Brazilian supermodel called it quits with her Turkish writer beau in mid-January after a year and a half of dating, People reports. Lima, 37, and Hara, 36, were first romantically linked in July 2017 when they were spotted packing on the PDA aboard a yacht in Bodrum, Turkey. According to Lima's social media, she met Hara a month earlier and even documented their first encounter via Instagram. Throughout their relationship, Hara shared plenty of pics of Lima to his own Instagram account, with the last post of the supermodel appearing in October.
Brie Larson and Alex Greenwald
The Captain Marvel star and her rocker fiance called off their engagement, according to multiple reports in mid-January. "They have taken a step back from their engagement for the time being but they remain close,” a source told People, who was first to report the split. Larson and Greenwald, both 29, got engaged in May of 2016 after three years of dating. The last photo that Larson posted on her Instagram of the two together was on Nov. 23, 2018.
Colt Johnson and Larissa Dos Santos Lima
Johnson is ready to move on. On Jan. 11, the 90 Day Fiance star filed for divorce from his wife of seven months, shortly after ET confirmed that Dos Santos Lima was arrested for domestic battery that same day. The arrest came after an alleged fight with her husband. 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates documented the alleged incident on social media, including photos Dos Santos Lima posted of her bloodied and lacerated face, which she claimed was a result of Johnson. In an apparent text exchange with Yates, she claimed that her and Johnson's fight started after she discovered him buying pornography, and she also accused him of being a pedophile. Johnson, on his end, also snapped photos of his injuries, which included a bloodied mouth. Johnson and Dos Santos Lima, who met on an online dating website, married on June 24, 2018. Their relationship is being documented on season six of 90 Day Fiance. He proposed after a total of 11 days together, after which she moved to Las Vegas to be with him.
MacKenzie and Jeff Bezos
The Amazon CEO and his wife announced via Twitter on Jan. 9 that they are divorcing. "We feel incredibly lucky to have found each other and deeply grateful for every one of the years we have been married to each other," the couple said in a statement posted to Jeff's' Twitter account. "If we had known we would separate after 25 years, we would do it all again." According to the statement, the couple went through a "long period of loving exploration and trial separation" before deciding to divorce. Jeff is currently dating former TV anchor Lauren Sanchez.
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik
It's over again! In early January, a source told ET that the gorgeous pair had indeed broken up after rampant fan speculation. Hadid, 23, and Malik, 25, initially split last March after more than two years of dating but were spotted kissing just one month later and were later open about reconciling. “Gigi and Zayn have broken up, but not because they don’t love one another," the source said. "After trying for a long time, the couple just couldn’t make it work. Zayn has been dealing with personal things for a while and Gigi has become a comfort blanket for him. Gigi will always support him but she has realized only Zayn can help Zayn." The two were first linked together in September 2015.
Lily Allen and Meridian Dan
The "Trigger Bang" singer revealed that she was single during an appearance on the How to Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast, which went live Jan. 2. “I’ve always had a boyfriend. I don’t at the moment," Allen admitted. "I’m single for the first time since I was about 15." The British singer-songwriter and the DJ (real name: Daniel Lawrence London) had been together since 2015.
