Beverly Hills, 90210 premiered in 1990 and nearly 30 years later, we'll get to see seven of the main cast members -- Jennie Garth, Gabrielle Carteris, Shannen Doherty, Brian Austin Green, Jason Priestley, Tori Spelling and Ian Ziering -- reunited once again for the meta reboot, BH90210. Before you grab your hairspray, get settled in at the Peach Pit and perfect your "Donna Martin graduates!" chant ahead of the Aug. 7 premiere, let's take a look back at what the actors looked like when we first met them and where they're at now.
Shannen Doherty: Then
Though Doherty was an O.G. cast member as Brenda Walsh, she was written off the show after four seasons. Doherty was notoriously difficult on set and there was an infamous on-set feud between her and co-stars Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth. Years later, Spelling admitted that she got the actress fired from the teen soap -- her father, after all, was 90210's creator and producer, Aaron Spelling.
Shannen Doherty: Now
The 48-year-old Memphis-born actress went on to lead yet another show, Charmed, in 1998, exiting after the third season due to reported on-and-off-set issues with co-star Alyssa Milano. She also hosted the first season of Sci-Fi's Scare Tactics in 2003, produced and starred in her own Oxygen reality show, Breaking Up With Shannen Doherty, in 2006, was quickly eliminated from the tenth season of Dancing With the Stars in 2010, and starred in the short-lived Heathers TV series (she played Heather Duke in the original 1988 movie). Off-screen, she was married to Ashley Hamilton for less than a year, annulled her marriage to Rick Salomon after nine months, and has been married to photographer Kurt Iswarienko since 2011. Four years later, Doherty went through a very public battle with breast cancer; after many rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, the actress announced she was in remission in 2017.
Jason Priestley: Then
Priestley's Brandon Walsh moved from Minnesota to Beverly Hills with his twin sister Brenda (Doherty). The show originally centered on the siblings' new West Coast reality and budding relationships with their new friends; his story eventually became about the many relationships he had over the course of the series and eventually a gambling problem.
Jason Priestley: Now
The Vancouver native, 49, took on a leading role in Call Me Fitz in 2010 and has been starring as Matt Shade in the Canadian show Private Eyes since 2016, the same year he was inducted into Canada's Walk of Fame (most importantly, beloved Great White North chain Tim Horton's once named a donut after him). Now an American citizen, Priestley and his wife, makeup artist Naomi Lowde, weclomed a daughter in 2007 and son in 2009. He is also well-known for his love of race-car driving -- he's been a part-owner in two different racing teams and has also provided commentary for ABC's IndyCar racing coverage -- and helped the Barenaked Ladies gain more traction in the States in the late '90s after directing the music video for "The Old Apartment" (BNL even appeared in an episode of 90210).
Jennie Garth: Then
The blonde beauty played Kelly Taylor, the most popular girl at West Beverly Hills High.
Jennie Garth: Now
The 47-year-old actress rocked a white dress with her character's first name emblazoned on it while visiting the Peach Pit pop-up in Los Angeles in August 2019. Since Beverly Hills, 90210 debuted, Garth has been married three times -- she shares three daughters with her second husband, actor Peter Facinelli -- played the lead role opposite Amanda Bynes in What I Like About You from 2002-2006, and appeared in season five of Dancing With the Stars.
Brian Austin Green: Then
The man who portrayed David Silver was bright-eyed and baby-faced back in 1990. David was a freshman when the show began, eager to make a name for himself. He went on to date Donna Martin and graduate a year early with the rest of the gang.
Brian Austin Green: Now
After the teen soap ended, the now-46-year-old actor was a regular on shows like Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Freddie, and Anger Management. Green dated two of his 90210 co-stars, Tiffani Thiessen in the mid-90s and Vanessa Marcil -- with whom he has one son, Kassius -- from 1999-2003. He is now married to Megan Fox, and the pair have three sons; they briefly separated in 2015, reuniting one year later. The Los Angeles native currently has a podcast, ...With Brian Austin Green, which he co-hosts with Derek Russell.
Tori Spelling: Then
Donna Martin was Spelling's first major role. Though her father was the producer, she apparently used a different last name to audition in an attempt to avoid nepotism. Donna was originally a supporting player, but Kelly Taylor's quickly got her own main storyline, focused largely around the character's strict Catholic upbringing and morality -- and, yes, letting her graduate.
Tori Spelling: Now
The best-selling author of six books has become as well known for her tumultuous personal life as her professional one, due in part to parodying herself in VH1's So Notorious and her reality show turns with her husband, Dean McDermott (they met on the set of Mind Over Murder, cheating on their then-spouses the night they met). The pair are now parents to five children and have weathered major financial issues and a cheating scandal. Earlier this year, the 46-year-old actress delighted the country as the Unicorn on The Masked Singer.
Ian Ziering: Then
Ziering's character, Steve Sanders, was rich, popular, seemingly care-free (it was all on the surface, y'all) and drove a Corvette, because of course he did, and his friendship with Brandon (Priestley) provided him with the stable family life he craved. Steve was involved in a ton of schemes and scams throughout high school and college and eventually ran two different newspapers.
Ian Ziering: Now
One word: Sharknado. Ziering, 55, portrayed Fin Shepard in the Syfy phenomenon that defied expectations over the course of six films from 2013-2018. This was by far his most successful post-90210 role, though like a couple of his co-stars, he did appear in DWTS, plus he competed on Celebrity Apprentice in 2015 and the Worst Cooks in America: Celebrity Edition in 2018 and had guest stints on a few TV shows. Most importantly, the Jersey boy had a guest stint in the Vegas show Chippendales. In 1997, he wed Playboy model Nikki Schieler. After their contentious 2002 divorce, Ziering wed Erin Ludwig in 2010, and the couple has two daughters, Mia and Penna.
Gabrielle Carteris: Then
The eldest of the main castmembers (she was 29 but portraying a 15-year-old), Carteris took on the role of brainy, shy Andrea Zuckerman. Andrea had a huge crush on Brandon, but their relationship never became romantic. She was also the valedictorian of West Beverly but chose to go to CU to be near her friends rather than head east to Yale. Carteris left 90210 in 1995, though she would come back in guest spots in later seasons, and helmed her own talk show, Gabrielle, for one season.
Gabrielle Carteris: Now
After 90210 and her self-titled talk show, Carteris, now 58, became a regular on the small screen, popping up in network series like Touched by an Angel, JAG and N.C.I.S. An accident on the set of a TV movie filming in Vancouver temporarily affected her speech and led to her face becoming partially paralyzed. The Arizona native became the executive vice-president of SAG-AFTRA in 2012 and the organizations' president in 2016. Carteris has been married to stockbroker Charles Isaacs since 1992 and they have two daughters, Kelsey and Mollie.
Luke Perry: Then
Bad boy Dylan McKay was played by Perry. One of the show's most popular characters, Dylan's loner reputation was lessened when Brandon befriended him, and the rebel became part of the gang. Dylan and Brenda would also have one of the most infamous teen TV relationships. Perry briefly left the show in 1995, aiming to try his hand at other projects, but returned in 1998.
Luke Perry: Now
The late Perry died of a massive stroke in March 2019. He was 52. At the time of his death, the Ohio native had a career resurgence playing Archie's father, Fred Andrews, on Riverdale. Previously, he went against character on HBO's Oz, appeared on Broadway in the 2001 revival of The Rocky Horror Show and in the 2004 London production of When Harry Met Sally... alongside How I Met Your Mother's Alyson Hannigan. Perry, a colorectal cancer advocate, was the proud father of two children, son Jack and daughter Sophie, with ex-wife Rachel Minnie Sharp, and was engaged to Wendy Madison Bauer. Shannen Doherty revealed to ET that she decided to return to her iconic role of Brenda following Perry's death in order to honor her friend.
