You may not realize it, but some super famous celebs got their start when they were barely old enough to drive. Although you'd recognize these famous faces anywhere now, you probably had no idea that you were watching stars such as Regina King, Seth Rogen and Brenda Song way back then.
You may not have heard the names of some of these TV shows and movies in years, but once you put the name and face together, you won't believe that someone such as Christian Serratos was once a Nickelodeon star.
Keep reading to discover which celebs were child stars.
Regina King: Then
The pint-sized King began her acting career at the age of 14 on the 1985 sitcom 227, where she played the booksmart and boy-crazy Brenda Jenkins. In 1991, she appeared as Shalika in the Ice Cube and Cuba Gooding Jr.-led movie, Boyz n the Hood.
The Los Angeles native continued her early career with featured roles on the TV series Northern Exposure, New York Undercover and Living Single. The actress went on to play Dana Jones in the Ice Cube movie Friday, and she famously played Cuba Gooding Jr.’s character’s wife, Marcee Tidwell, in the Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger-led 1996 movie, Jerry Maguire.
Regina King: Now
In 2015, King played Aliyah Shadeed on ABC’s American Crime. She returned to the series in 2016 as character Terri LaCroix and again in 2017 as the character Kimara Walters. King, who has starred in several TV series and movies that provide commentary (sometimes metaphorically) on the social climate of the U.S., concluded her Emmys acceptance speech with an impassioned call to action: "We gotta vote. I would be remiss not to mention that, being a part of a show as prescient as Watchmen," she said. "Have a voting plan, vote up the ballot, please.”
Christian Serratos: Then
