'What We Do In the Shadows'
This hilarious series released season 5 on July 13, 2023. The cast keeps you entertained with their witty vampire humor, and the series takes place in Staten Island, New York, in today's time. The vampires have to make sure they keep their identity a secret whilst still seeming "normal" to society. In their attempt to adapt to current culture and times they have some hysterical moments.
'Theater Camp'
The movie is based in upstate New York where the staff tries to keep the theater camp going after running into money issues and the founder of the camp falls into a coma. The movie is out now.
'The Boogeyman'
The Boogeyman is a horror/mystery film starring Sophie Tatcher, David Dastmalchian, Vivien Lyra Blair, Chris Messina and Marin Ireland. The Rob Savage-directed film centers around a family grieving their mother's loss. But things get worse when the father, a therapist, has to deal with an unexpected visit from a patient who goes on to terrorize the family. The Boogeyman is now in theaters.
'Oppenheimer'
Cillian Murphy plays the physicist in Oppenheimer who discovers the atomic bomb. The story unfolds with the consequences of developing such a powerful weapon and letting the world know about it. Oppenheimer is in theaters now.
'The Afterparty'
Season 2 of The Afterparty premieres on July 12, 2023, on Apple TV+. After a cleverly written and critically celebrated first season, series star Tiffany Haddish returns as Detective Danner, investigating a whole new murder mystery. This season, a groom ends up murdered at his own wedding, and everyone becomes a suspect as the story unfolds.
'Based on a True Story'
This Peacock was released on June 8, 2023. Kaley Cuoco plays Ava Bartlett in this comedy thriller. Ava and her husband hit a rut in life but then something sparks interest and adds a zing back when they realize they discovered who might be a serial killer, potentially their friend. They start making a podcast about it while staying incognito and gathering more evidence.
'The Blackening'
This horror comedy hit theaters on June 16, 2023. The seven characters go away for the weekend to find out they are trapped in a cabin by a killer. They use their knowledge of horror movies to try and stay alive.
'Asteroid City'
Asteroid City is a Wes Anderson film set in a remote desert city that has strange events happening during a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention. This movie is packed with a star-studded cast, including Tom Hanks, Scarlett Johansson, Maya Hawke and Jason Schwartzman. Asteroid City hits theaters on June 23, 2023.
'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny'
The iconic Indiana Jones is back again played by Harrison Ford. He is an archaeologist trying to save humanity by retrieving an ancient dial, and his goddaughter helps him on his quests. This movie makes its way to theaters on June 30, 2023.
'Barbie'
Barbie has the desire to leave Barbie Land to find out what life has to offer. Ryan Gosling plays Ken and Margot Robbie plays Barbie, as they make their adventures into the real world. The movie comes out in theaters on July 21, 2023.
'They Cloned Tyrone'
Jamie Foxx plays Slick Charles, Teyonah Parris portrays Yo-Yo, and John Boyega is Fontaine in They Cloned Tyrone. The three characters start to uncover conspiracies that the government is trying to hide. This TV series comes out July 21, 2023, on Netflix.
'Haunted Mansion'
In this horror comedy movie, the mom and son seek help to rid their new mansion of ghostly creatures. This is a star packed film with LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Jamie Lee Curtis, Owen Wilson, Ryan Gosling and many more. This film will be released on July 28, 2023 in theaters.
'The Idol'
The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp have their big debut in The Idol. Lily-Rose plays Joycelyn, an up-and-coming pop star with a shaky mental state, who seeks help with her music from a sketchy character, Tedros, played by Abel Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd. The first episode of The Idol was released on June 4, 2023, on Max.
