LBDs were all the rage at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 20, with many of them punctuated by thigh-high slits, bold shoulders and embellished sleeves. There were plenty more sexy and sophisticated ensembles on the red carpet, however -- click through the gallery to see some of the boldest looks.

For her first red carpet in two years, Swift dazzled in a pale pink Atelier Versace gown that upped the wow factor with a single shoulder with feather detailing, silver floral appliques and a nearly hip-high slit. She rocked her signature red lip and accessorized with metallic T-strap, peep-toe platforms.

The 21-year-old model brought a dose of sophistication to the red carpet in a plunging, shimmery gold long-sleeved maxi dress by Alexandre Vauthier with a gathered detail at the waist that looked like a sunburst.

Jennifer Lopez

J.Lo is here for the peekaboo bra trend! The "TK" singer looked like she had stepped right off the runway in a Fall/Winter 2018-2019 ensemble from Roberto Cavalli that included a burgundy crocodile-printed leather skirt with a matching long-sleeved shirt and bra in quilted silk velvet. She accessorized with burgundy over-the-knee Casadei leather boots and finished the look with a smoky eye, sculpted blush and blunt textured bob.

Demi Lovato

Cool for the summer? Try cool for the red carpet! Like J.Lo, Lovato also brought her animal instincts out in this belted cheetah-print Dior gown. A slicked-back 'do, thin hoops and black peep-toe heels nicely complemented the bold dress.

Kelly Clarkson

Exaggerated shoulders were all the rage at the BBMAs, and the show's host was no exception to the trend. Clarkson oozed glam in a floor-length, long-sleeved LBD complete with sculpted shoulders, an asymmetrical neckline, thigh-high slit and patent belt. Diamond drop earrings, a beaded silver clutch, metallic nails and an orange lip rounded out the fun look.

Alyson Stoner

The singer-dancer left her shirt at home, going nearly bare-chested in a purple House of CB suit, which she paired with silver jewels by Cirari, Ben Bridge Jeweler and VTse Jewelry and black Liliana Footwear heels. For makeup, she opted for a tan-and-purple eye and nails that read #WDYL, aka the name of her new song, "Who Do You Love."

Halsey

The "Him & I" singer brought the drama in a black strapless Redemption mini with a ruffled tulle train attached at the waist. Shoulder-grazing earrings and strappy embellished sandals were equally eye-catching, as was her crimson-and-black eyeshadow and burgundy nails.

The "1, 2 Step" singer showed off her toned frame in a very sheer, shimmering silver halter dress and matching strappy heels, rocking big curls to up the dance floor-ready vibe.

Honored during the awards show, the 52-year-old singer looked ageless in her white T-shirt, wide cognac-hued belt and custom mint green tulle maxi skirt by Rami Kadi, which she accessorized with tons of gold chain jewelry.

Tyra Banks

"They shout, I pose!" Banks wrote of her red carpet walk at the BBMAs on her Instagram story, and that's exactly what she did, showing off her smize and the embellished ruffled sleeves of her knee-length black Marc Bouwer dress, which she paired with matching ankle-strap sandals, emerald earrings with a tear-drop top by Jared Lehr and gold rings.

Kesha

The "Praying" singer's fringed, peach-hued look was all things cowgirl-meets-boho.

Normani

Normani brought the fierceness to the BBMAs, strutting her stuff in a lacy, sheer black halter dress, black underwear and strappy patent sandals.

The World of Dance host rocked an uber sexy strapless leather Zuhair Murad mini covered in fringe and grommets with studded black-and-gold sandals.

Padma Lakshmi

Lakshmi put her best foot forward in a one-shouldered, dark gray metallic dress with a hip-high slit and strappy silver sandals.

Xtina made a major statement in her deconstructed menswear-inspired belted dress by 16Arlington that featured a long, dramatic train. She wore her hair up to let the dress do all the talking, accessorizing with silver rings and hoops and black pumps.

Bebe Rexha

Why rock a tulle skirt when you can sport the fabric on your sleeves instead? Rexha did just that when she walked the red carpet in this velvet Christian Siriano number.
