Kat Von D is covering up her tattoos. The 41-year-old tattoo artist took to Instagram on Oct. 19, 2023 to reveal that she's 80 percent done "blacking out" her tattoos after undergoing 17 sessions over nearly 40 hours.
Von D shared a video of the process and answered several FAQs about it in the caption.
As for why she's opting to black out her tattoos rather than get them removed via laser, Von D wrote, "I actually did start lasering tattoos, and although I think laser tattoo removal is effective, I personally wasn’t a good candidate considering how much coverage I wanted to remove. Laser is a slow (and extremely painful) process, that depending on your tattoo, can take more than 10 sessions, including long healing periods in between."
Billie Eilish
The 21-year-old GRAMMY winner continues to expand her impressive tattoo collection. The singer took to Instagram on Oct.18, 2023 to share a series of photos, including one that revealed a striking tattoo stretching down the length of her entire back.
The new ink, executed by tattoo artist Matias Milan, features a mesmerizing line design that spans the length of Eilish's spine. Eilish didn't provide any insight into the meaning behind this intricate artwork, and she also remained tight-lipped about when exactly the tattoo was done. However, fans received a sneak peek of the top portion of this all-black tattoo in a post from Sept. 20, piquing their curiosity.

The "Sally Walker" rapper shared a video on Instagram showing off her new arm tattoo which she got in honor of her 23-month-old son Onyx Kelly, who she shares with ex Playboi Carti.

The Cravings: Hungry for More author showed off her new, delicate elephant tattoo, located on her wrist, in an Instagram post on Jan. 31. “In my past life I was an elephant,” the caption, which was written out in Thai, read. In the photo, the tattoo -- which sticks out under the sleeve of a sweater -- shows the animal with his trunk up, which many believe is a sign of good luck.

The "Anyone" singer took to their Instagram Stories on Jan. 9 to share a look at the massive black spider tattoo they got inked on the side of their head by celebrity artist Dr. Woo. Posting a video from the session, Lovato showed off the new body art, shaving off a large chunk of their new buzzcut to place the spider right above their ear.

David Beckham's 19-year-old son debuted a wings-and-cross tattoo on the back of his neck in an Instagram post he shared on Jan. 6. The tattoo is reminiscent of the one his famous father has sported for years, and Romeo thanked renowned tattoo artist Doctor Woo for the incredible work.

The 23-year-old conservationist showed off her latest ink in a sweet slideshow post she shared to Instagram on Jan. 6. Talk about multitasking! The 25-year-old musician headed to the Beverly Hills, California, office of dentist Dr. Thomas Connelly in August 2020 to get diamonds applied to his teeth. He also got inked by Ganga -- during the same visit! A source told ET that the “Sunflower” singer is taking extra precautions during the coronavirus pandemic, so he decided to undergo two treatments in one session inside a surgical room at Dr. Connelly’s office. Ganga shared a peek at the session on his tattoo studio’s Instagram account, posting a photo of the skull design being completed on Malone’s leg. “@postmalone thank you so much for your trust, the first time in the world that this is done!” the tattoo artist wrote. “In the operating room working hand in hand with @connellydds ❤️ more news soon!”
Zach Braff
The 45-year-old actor paid tribute to his late friend Nick Cordero in a very special way. Braff got a stunning piece of new ink that shows Cordero, who died in July 2020 after a nearly 100-day battle with the coronavirus, dancing and singing while wearing a costume similar to one he sported in Bullets Over Broadway. Braff and Cordero met while starring in the show's Broadway production. Benjamin was 27 when he died by suicide earlier in the month. The Keough siblings are the children of Lisa Marie Presley and grandchildren of Elvis Presley.

The Friends alum famously has her late dog, Norman's, name inked on her foot, but in 2018, she also got an "11:11" drawn on her wrist. The meaning of the tattoo is unknown (though 11:11 is thought to be lucky, but it has been more visible as of late, namely when she has waved at awards shows like the 26th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in January 2020 and during her June 2020 virtual reunion with former co-star Lisa Kudrow.

The first line of the heavily tattooed songstress' recent single, "Mother's Daughter," just so happens to start with the line, "So don't f**k with my freedom." At the same sitting, she also had a handwritten note from Yoko Ono inked on her shoulder that reads, "'I'm proud of U. Yoko.'" Both were delicate, single needle pieces.

The 22-year-old singer got inked for the first time by Los Angeles artist Kane Navasard alongside her boyfriend, Shawn Mendes. NYC tattoo artist Ryan Mullins posted a photo of the 25-year-old comedian’s right arm, now covered by the image of a unicorn, as well as a photo of himself working away on the huge piece of artwork as the Saturday Night Live star waited patiently. “Unicorn ? on my dude Pete Davidson,” Mullins wrote of the black-and-white artwork on March 6, which is primarily the horse-like, one-horned animal’s face. Fans will remember that the TV star got a number of tattoos throughout his short-lived romance and engagement to Ariana Grande in 2018. Among them was the singer’s signature bunny-ears mask on his neck and the phrase “mille tendresse” (“a thousand tendernesses” in French, which is a Breakfast at Tiffany’s reference) to match Grande’s on the back of his neck. Those two in particular have since been covered up, with the latter replaced by the word “cursed.”

The 52-year-old actress took shared a snap of her massive tattoo, which runs along her spine. The leafy ink takes up the entirety of the middle of her back and grows in size as it travels down. Berry showed off her latest addition with a topless pic from behind, where she's sporting a sparkly skirt as she stands at the stovetop holding a pan, captioning the Instagram post, "Who says I’m not a mermaid ?♀️."

Mother Monster rang in Valentine's Day by adding two new tattoos to her ever-growing body art collection. She paid tribute to A Star Is Born by getting a delicate rose inked up her spine, with the petals along the stem reading "La Vie en Rose" in script. The single-needle tattoo is a reference to the first song Gaga sings as Ally in the remake, when Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) meets her for the first time. The New York City native also got a smaller piece on her arm, a series of musical notes that spell out "G-A-G-A."

One day after her fiance, Joe Jonas, shared a pic of the new ink she got from Winter Stone, the Game of Thrones star did the same. Her third tattoo from the Los Angeles-based artist was a small flame outlined in black ink on her ring finger. Last August, Stone tattooed a north star on her back.

On Jan. 1, however, tattoo artist JonBoy shared on a close-up pic to Instagram, revealing that the "Sorry" singer had the word "grace" scrawled in script over his right eyebrow. JonBoy, who has previously worked with Bieber and his wife, Hailey Baldwin, as well as other celebs like Travis Scott and Kendall Jenner, appeared to just be admiring the tattoo, which was inked by fellow celeb tattoo artist Bang Bang and for which Baldwin has a counterpart. "They each got a tattoo,” Bang Bang previously told Page Six TV. “It’s really thin and delicate. And [it’s] also not a traditional couples’ tattoo...
