TV Characters Who Dressed Like Santa

In "The One With the Holiday Armadillo," Ross is forced to rent an armadillo costume to surprise his son Ben after the costume shop is out of holiday gear. Later, Chandler shows up in a Santa suit to help him out, but Ben is loving the Holiday Armadillo's story of Hanukkah so much, Ross asks Santa Chandler to leave. 

In New Girl's season one holiday episode, "The 23rd," Schmidt reveals to the gang that his boss forces him to dress as "Sexy Santa" every year for his office Christmas party. While he used the role to find out drunken secrets about his coworkers, Schmidt admits that playing the part demoralizes him and he eventually stands up to his boss, refusing to continue playing the role of sexy St. Nick. 

SNL's Kenan Thompson dressed up as St. Nick to perform a Weekend Update editorial in response to Fox News' Megyn Kelly declaring on-air that Santa is white.

"You've heard of Secret Santa?" Thompson asked Update anchor Cecily Strong. "Well here's a secret for you: I'm black as hell!"

Dunder Mifflin boss Michael Scott frequently dressed up as Santa on The Office's holiday episodes, including during season six's "Secret Santa," when Michael becomes outraged that co-worker Phyllis has already dressed up as St. Nick for the office's holiday gift exchange. 

Despite Studio 60's short run, the fictional sketch show's rookie castmember dressed up as Santa twice for the show's holiday episode, titled "The Christmas Show." He is seen as "Mexican Santa Claus" and again in a sketch based on Dateline's "To Catch a Predator," where the jolly gift giver is questioned by Chris Hansen after he is caught breaking in to young children's rooms to give them presents. 

In season five's "Chuck Versus the Santa Suit," the show's protagonist is dressed as Santa for most of the episode, hoping to recreate a happy family memory for his sister Ellie. Unfortunately, secret spy life gets in the way, and Chuck is forced to take on the villainous Shaw, save Sarah AND pretend to make out with Beckman, all while dressed as Jolly Old St. Nicholas. 

In the season four episode "Reefer," Dr. McNamara gets drunk after learning that he will be alone for the holidays. After operating on a Santa who was burned coming down the chimney, Sean decides to fill in at the mall, drunkenly listening to the children's requests and harassing the elves. 

On That '70s Show's fourth Christmas episode, season six's "Christmas," Red is inexplicably given the job of mall Santa over Donna's father Bob, and proceeds to tell the children the brutal truth about the gifts they request.

"Ponies die," he explains to one heartbroken little girl. "What you need is a good pair of boots."

Uncle Joey is not the only Full House family member to dress up as Santa. Various Christmas episodes have featured Danny's girlfriend Vicky, DJ's boyfriend Steve and even guest star Mickey Rooney in the iconic red suit.

A holiday episode of the iconic 90s teen show featured Zack Morris dressed up as Santa, Slater as an elf, and Screech as a reindeer.

The holiday episode of Roseanne's fourth season featured the star volunteering as a mall Santa with Jackie as Mrs. Claus. 

The Master of the Universe covered up his trademark abs with a "bowl full of jelly" for 1985's He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special. 

Everyone's favorite cat-eating alien donned the trademark red suit for his very own Christmas special, which originally aired in 1987. 

The Cheers barfly put on a Santa suit for a part-time job in the 1987 episode "Christmas Cheers," exclaiming, "Finally, somebody wants to get me something!" when Woody asks for his drink order. 

The I Love Lucy Christmas special features Lucy, Ricky, Ethel and Fred all dressed up as Santa come Christmas morning. Suddenly, a fifth Santa enters and is revealed to be Fred. The fourth Santa was THE Santa Claus!
