'The Giver'

Three new stills from the upcoming big screen adaptation of the classic young-adult dystopian novel The Giver have been released, offering a look inside the quietly brooding world where the film is set. In this pic, Jeff Bridges, who stars as The Giver, sits at the piano with Taylor Swift, who plays Rosemary, a girl who had also been on track to be The Receiver, but failed her training.

The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) who lives in an idyllic community free from war, pain, anger, hatred, suffering or sadness, but is also free of passion and real emotion. He is chosen to be the Receiver of Memory, a job that will isolate him from his friends and family. Regardless, he readily accepts the role.

As the new Receiver, Jonas is given the whole of humanity's history that transferred to him by the previous generation's Receiver, who is now known as the eponymous Giver. Jonas experiences for the first time real joy, but he also learns of fear, strife, war and sadness. He also learns that the community has sacrificed its core humanity to give comfort to the people, and now he must come to a decision on what to do.

Two new images from the upcoming Tom Cruise sci-fi thriller have arrived. Formerly titled, All You Need is Kill, Edge of Tomorrow co-stars Emily Blunt and is based on the acclaimed novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, which finds Earth under attack by a superior alien race called Mimics, forcing the outmatched human race to band together for one last stand. Cruise plays a combat-inexperienced officer forced into a suicide mission whose direct physical contact with the Mimics propels him into a Groundhog Day-style time loop, dooming him to die over and over again – and discover the key to defeating the enemy.

Release Date: June 6, 2014.

'Hercules'

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson offered up a first look at him portraying Greek demigod Hercules. He tweeted on March 23, 2014: "EXCLUSIVE first look. #HERCULES The world's first superhero. #TilDeathOrVictory."

Set to hit theaters July 25, 2014, the action-adventure movie begins after Hercules has endured his legendary 12 labors, and has his life as a sword-for-hire tested when the King of Thrace and his daughter seek his aid in defeating a tyrannical warlord.

The Rock isn't the only Hercules of the year. Twilight heartthrob Kellan Lutz stars in The Legend of Hercules, which was released in Jan. 2014.

'X-Men: Days of Future Past'

Dane DeHaan's Green Goblin is finally revealed in this action-packed image from The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Andrew Garfield returns as the title superhero to fight several bad guys in the Marc Webb-directed movie, co-starring Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, Sally Field, Chris Cooper and B.J. Novak.

'Dumb and Dumber To'

Riding in like two horsemen of the apocalypse, the first official image of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels in their, um, heralded return to their Dumb and Dumber roles has arrived. Peter Farrelly and Bobby Farrelly are also back to direct the long awaited sequel to the 1994 hit comedy.

Release Date: The comedy hits theaters November 14, 2014.

'A Million Ways to Die in the West'

First-Look Image: Family Guy and Ted creator Seth MacFarlane returns to the big-screen with his second live-action feature, this time taking the starring role as a cowardly sheep farmer who must find his courage after backing out of a gunfight and then falling in love with the wrong woman. The comedy western's stellar supporting cast includes Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Silverman, Giovanni Ribisi and Neil Patrick Harris.

'Camp X-Ray'

Kristen Stewart dons a military uniform in the first image to be released from her new film Camp X-Ray, in which she plays a young female guard at Guantanamo Bay who forms an unlikely friendship with one of the detainees who has been imprisoned there for eight years. Also starring Prison Break star Lane Garrison, Camp X-Ray is scheduled to be released in 2014.

'Dark Places'

Fueled by the success of Gone Girl, big screen adaptations of Gillian Flynn's first two books are also in the works and now we've got our first look (via) at Charlize Theron in Dark Places. In the film, out 2014, Theron stars as "Libby Day, a woman who, at the age of 7, survives the massacre of her family and testifies against her brother as the murderer. Twenty-five years later, a group obsessed with solving notorious crimes confronts her with questions about the horrific event."
