10 Cool Comic-Con Collectibles

In addition to dressing up as your favorite character, rubbing elbows with stars hawking their new projects and sifting through tons of comic book and toy vendors, Comic-Con is all about collectibles – the cooler, crazier and more exclusive the better. Here are 10 top collectibles to keep an eye out for in San Diego this weekend inspired by Star Wars, Game of Thrones, The Hobbit, Doctor Who, Star Trek and more. Better get in line now!

Even though Peter Jackson will not be at Comic-Con this year to debut The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug footage, fans can bide their time with this collectible from The Bridge Direct (The Bridge Direct/Weta Booth #3513B). The 7" tall Orc Commander Azog, depicted as he appears in the prologue scene from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, comes in a numbered, limited edition of 2,600 pieces. Azog holds the severed head of the dwarf King Thror up in victory. How nice! The figure comes with interchangeable hands - the right hand that holds Thror's head can be replaced with a hand capable of holding either his dagger or mace, and the left hand can be switched with the prosthetic spikes that replaced the hand he lost to Thorin's sword. It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it's Domo! The Japanese mascot joins the ranks of DC Comics' superhero greats in this special figure in full Man of Steel costume. The figure joins the established Domo X DC line of unique 4-inch Super Stylized Pop! One aspect of the Comic-Con experience is getting ahold of the giant collectible, limited-edition bags given out, and Warner Bros. is capitalizing on the demand with themed bags that not only advertise their pop culture-related shows, but have a detachable cape! With double-sided artwork, TV shows include The Big Bang Theory, Arrow, The Following, Revolution, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Titans Go! and the classic Batman TV series, while film-related backpacks include Godzilla, The LEGO Movie, Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and 300: Rise of an Empire. The wait is over after more than 30 years. Back in 1979, prototypes for 3 ¾" action figures for Ridley Scott's Alien were developed but never manufactured. Now, Super7 (Booth #5245) has made these "lost toys" a reality as part of their ReAction Figure Series (Retro-Action). But Ripley, Ash, Dallas, Kane and the Alien aren't exactly ready yet, so Comic-Con collectors can get a Star Wars-inspired "early bird" package full of exclusive goodies as they await the arrival of the figures. The '70s daredevil Evel Knievel meets the most notorious bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe with this ultra-cool and hilarious mash-up from Retro Outlaw Studios (booth #929). The 12-inch figure includes a removable cape and "swagger" stick -- yeah, that's right -- and is limited to 300 pieces. Price: $120

This one may melt nerd minds. Fans of Star Trek and The Twilight Zone meet in the middle with their mutual appreciation of William Shatner in this unique collectible from Entertainment Earth and Biff Bang Pow! (Booth #2343) that includes two 4-inch scale Monitor Mate miniature bobble heads of Shatner as seen in two of his most revered roles from the respective shows. Price: $39.99

Game of Thrones mongers can now decorate their cubicles with this shiny, handsome 7-inch sculptural replica of the Stark shield from Dark Horse Comics (Booth #2615), complete with a hook for wall mounting. Featuring House Stark's sigil, a grey dire wolf, the replica shield is a limited run of 1,200 pieces – so the purchase limit is two per person. Price: $30

It's a trap! Return of the Jedi's fishy Rebel Alliance mascot Admiral Ackbar was depicted as a true naval admiral in a painting by Steven Daily. Now, that painting comes to life with an 8-inch tall bust from Gentle Giant Ltd. that comes in a screen-printed wooden box with a 4 x 6 limited edition lithograph print by Acme Archives. Limited to only 500 pieces, each comes with a hand-numbered certificate of authenticity and bottom stamp. Price: $175.

Nom Nom Nom Nom! Inspired by Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, Bandai's (Booth #2813) Pac is Back - Avi Arad Limited Edition Figure is vacuum metalized and features one of Pac's berry power actions -- open his mouth for his super power tongue featuring classic Pac-Man graphics! Only 500 of this Comic Con Exclusive are being produced and each is numbered and signed by Avi Arad. Price: $25

Another mash-up to melt nerd minds from Entertainment Earth and Biff Bang Pow! (Booth #2343), this collectible tin tote joins the forces of two sci-fi titans – Doctor Who and Star Trek: The Next Generation -- with a TARDIS miniature bobble head and a "bonus" certificate for a U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D miniature bobble ship! The tin tote sports J.K.
