This Is 40 (out March 22)
Universal
Turning 40 can't be that bad, can it? That's the question director Judd Apatow explores in This is 40, his new sorta-sequel to Knocked Up, which expands upon the story of Pete and Debbie from Knocked Up, picking up about five years later to see how they are dealing with their current state of life with kids, friend and parents. The new comedy also stars John Lithgow, Chris O'Dowd, Megan Fox, Iris Apatow, Maude Apatow, Melissa McCarthy, Robert Smigel, Charlene Yi and Albert Brooks.
Zero Dark Thirty
Sony Pictures
Oscar-winning The Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow follows up her intense Iraq War saga with the true-life drama of how we tracked down Osama bin Laden. Jessica Chastain, Joel Edgerton, Kyle Chandler and James Gandolfini star in the story that details the against-all-odds black ops mission to capture or kill the terrorist mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks. Discovered in a compound in Pakistan, the Al Qaeda leader was targeted by Navy SEAL Team 6 in a deadly, high-stakes raid. Zero Dark Thirty reteams Bigelow with her Hurt Locker screenwriter Mark Boal and also stars Chris Pratt, Edgar Ramirez, Mark Strong, Nash Edgerton, Harold Perrineau, Jennifer Ehle and Frank Grillo.

Badlands on Blu-ray
Criterion Collection
The Tree of Life and The Thin Red Line director Terrence Malick's 1973 debut feature is finally getting the Criterion treatment on Blu-ray and DVD! Martin Sheen and Sissy Spacek star in this impressionistic, poetic take on the notorious Charles Starkweather killing spree of the late '50s. An investigation of teen romance and natural beauty juxtaposed with fierce violence, the dreamlike tone of the film set the bar for many of Malick's films to come. The director-approved edition features a new, restored 4K digital transfer; a new documentary featuring Sheen, Spacek and art director Jack Fisk; a 1993 episode of TV's American Justice about the real-life Charles Starkweather story; a booklet featuring an essay by filmmaker Michael Almereyda and more.
Rust and Bone
Sony Pictures
Oscar winner Marion Cotillard gives a tour-de-force performance in this gripping tale of two souls finding strength from each other after tragedy reunites them. Loosely based on Craig Davidson's short story collection of the same name, Rust and Bone follows a killer whale trainer (Cotillard) whose life is transformed when tragedy strikes during a show. Faced with unbearable circumstances, she turns to Ali (Matthias Schoenaerts), a street boxer facing his own life-changing events.
Shadow People

In this supernatural thriller based on true events, a small-town late-night radio host (Dallas Roberts) and a skeptical CDC investigator (Alison Eastwood) discover a disturbing phenomenon that finds people dying in droves in their sleep after reporting visions of mysterious, shadowy intruders. Are they paranoid hallucinations, or actual night creatures? Anne Dudek and Mattie Liptak co-star.
