When Good Girls Go Bad on Film

Though Selena Gomez has fans and critics alike up in arms over shedding her squeaky-clean Disney image to play a bank-robbing Spring Breaker in the much-hyped Spring Breakers, out March 22, she's hardly the first good girl to go bad on film. From Anne Hathaway going topless in Havoc and Brokeback Mountain to Elizabeth Berkley's unforgettable Showgirls, let's take a look back at her scandalous predecessors!

Emma Watson

Though Emma Watson will forever be known as the adorable Hermione in the Harry Potter franchise, she's clearly looking to leave that behind her playing Nicki in Sofia Coppola's The Bling Ring, in which she stars as a fame-obsessed L.A. girl who robs the homes of celebrities. Judging by the already eyebrow-raising trailer, we're poised to see a side of Emma we've never seen before.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway put her The Princess Diaries past far behind her in 2005's Havoc, in which she played a suburban girl looking to go gangster. The film featured a racy topless scene, and signaled the end of her previous PG-13 roles. She later went topless again in 2005's Brokeback Mountain.

Vanessa Hudgens

Though Vanessa Hudgens' nude picture scandals irreversibly altered her Hollywood image, her role as Gabriella Montez in Disney's smash hit High School Musical will forever make her a Disney girl at heart. Vanessa more than broke out of that mold playing a stripper in The Frozen Ground, and her jaw-dropping striptease in the film's trailer made headlines.

Natalie Portman

Natalie Portman shed her good-girl image in 2004's Closer, in which she played a stripper whose memorable pink wig is still being idolized by actresses today.

Elizabeth Berkley

From Saved by the Bell to Showgirls -- enough said.

Katie Holmes

Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes created waves with a nude scene in 2000's The Gift.

Kristen Stewart

Though Kristen Stewart's far-from-bubbly demeanor is about as distant from a Disney/Nickelodeon star as you can get, previous to her stripper role in Welcome to the Rileys, she played Twilight's squeaky clean Bella Swan and even starred in kid-friendly flicks like Zathura: A Space Adventure and Catch That Kid.

Selena Gomez

Selena Gomez managed to hang on to her good-girl image even after her Disney hit Wizards of Waverly Place ended, but if the Spring Breakers trailer is anything to go by, racier roles are what's up ahead for the still youthful-looking star

Emily Browning

Emily Browning seemed to grow up fast after her role in Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events, the peak of it being her role in the controversial and downright disturbing Sleeping Beauty, in which she played a young college girl who gets paid to sleep in bed alongside paying customers.

Sarah Michelle Gellar

Buffy the Vampire slayer herself played the ultimate bad girl in 1999's Cruel Intentions, which featured a memorable girl-on-girl kiss between her and Selma Blair.
