On Jan. 3, 2023, the actor shared a selfie from his bed in ICU. Public Information Office Bryan Samudio of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office explained that on Sunday, Jan. 1 at 8:55 a.m., a 9-1-1 call was received involving a snowcat and a pedestrian, who had been ran over by the snowcat in the area of Mount Rose Highway. According to Samudio, the previous evening had seen approximately three feet of snow in the area.

"Mr. Renner's personal vehicle, which was being driven by a family member, had become stuck in the snow near his home," Samudio explained. "Mr. Renner went to retrieve his piston bully, or snowcat -- an extremely large piece mobile equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds -- in an effort to get his vehicle moving."

The legendary skateboarder took to Instagram on March 8, 2022, to announce that he'd broken his femur, and to share a few snapshots from the hospital, as well as a pic of his x-ray, showing the severely broken bone. "Yesterday sucked. I broke my elbow 20 years ago and managed to make a full comeback; this recovery for a broken femur will be much harder because of its severity (and my age), but I'm up for the challenge," Hawk wrote, in part. "I’ve said many times that I won’t stop skating until I am physically unable. A broken leg - with plenty of hardware - will probably be the biggest test of that creed. I’ll be back… maybe not at full capacity but I resigned to that notion years ago as I approached 'mid-life.'"

The reality star and one-time California gubernatorial candidate took to Instagram on Dec. 24 to share a video from the hospital -- which was apparently shot several days earlier -- in which she let her followers know that she'd gone under the knife for knee surgery. "Guess what I'm doing today! I'm getting my knee replaced," Jenner said in her hospital bed. "I've been putting this off for 25 years and I'm finally going to do it today!" Jenner captioned the post ""Merry Christmas! This year I got a new knee. 11 days ago I had knee replacement surgery. I’ll keep you posted on my progress! Stay tuned. Enjoy your Christmas! The two-time Oscar winner shared a snapshot of himself getting the COVID-19 vaccine, alongside a message of appreciation for the organizations that have partnered with his foundation, Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE). Pink took to Instagram in August 2020 to wish her husband well after he underwent rotator cuff surgery. The "Hurts 2B Human" singer shared a pic of the shirtless and mask-wearing 45-year-old MBX athlete in a hospital bed post-surgery, writing, "My man baby. I love him so. The "Baby, Baby" singer took to Instagram to share news of her "unanticipated open heart surgery" with fans. "The only way I can explain my experience would be to ask you to imagine a non-runner who was signed up for a marathon. I didn’t want it, but I had to have it anyway and it was a week ago Wednesday," she shared in mid-June 2020 as she posted a photo from the hospital and three more of her chest scar from the surgery. "And as people heard about the surgery I started getting messages: 'I’m praying for you' …'I’m praying for you'. People I worked with decades ago, people who have come to my concerts or listen to my music, my work family, people on social media, and my own friends and family all offered their prayers. And now, ten days later, I just want to say, from the moment I went to the hospital, if it really were a marathon race, I felt like I got into that runners block and as soon as it was time for the race to start there was this massive West Texas wind at my back.. just pushing me through. Even stuff I was really scared about felt like nothing more than just a deep breath and something supernatural pushed me through it. My recovery has honestly felt miraculous. And so I want to say thank you to each person who said a prayer for me."

In March 2020, the celebrity couple confirmed the news that they had contracted the coronavirus. "Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches," Hanks wrote on Instagram. "Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive. Well, now. What to do next? The following day, Hanks shared a selfie from the hospital, updating fans on his and Wilson's health status -- and even using one of his famous lines from A League of Their Own to sign off. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else," he wrote. "There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. The A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood star continued to share updates throughout the pair's hospital stay, which ended on March 16. A rep for the actor confirmed to ET that Hanks and Wilson transitioned to self-quarantine at their home in Australia. 

The Supernatural star shared a video documenting his hip replacement surgery in December 2019. "I wore out my hips running too much with a condition called “dysplasia,” which is actually not as sexy as it sounds," the actor shared. "Today I went in to get a titanium hip replacement from Dr. Berger in Chicago... Thank you to this team and to everyone who has made a career of bringing health to others. The 34-year-old World of Dance judge took to Instagram in November 2019 to reveal that he had emergency surgery to remove his appendix. "Woke up at 3am with a severe and a sharp pain in my abdomen. Knew something wasn’t right," he wrote alongside a video of himself in his hospital gown. "Turned out it was appendicitis and had surgery to remove my appendix straight away. This is me immediately after, still a little(a lot) medicated, giving @hayley.erbert a (sexy) little dance. Me: Is this doing it for you babe? Hayley: So hot. Thank you for lying to me babe ;),"

The "Slide Away" singer took to her Instagram Story in October 2019 to share a pic from a hospital bed, where she was recovering from tonsilitis. 

Ouch! The Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile actor revealed he got into a skiing injury, but he seemed pretty positive about the whole ordeal. "I tore my ACL shredding the gnar⛷😕  but all is good," he wrote on Instagram in February 2019. "I opted for surgery so I can come back stronger than ever. Thank you to Dr. Kvitne and his team at Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center. I’ll keep you updated as I heal and progress! Thanks for all the love and positivity!"

The British actress revealed in January 2019 that she was hospitalized after an ovarian cyst ruptured. “Turns out a ruptured ovarian cyst really hurts and morphine makes me cry,” she captioned two images posted to Instagram. “So thankful to everyone who looked after me #wobbly.”

The "Ex's & Oh's" singer suffered a skiing accident at Beaver Creek Mountain in Colorado in January 19, and Instagrammed a picture from her hospital bed. "WELP! Guess who’s NOT a skier...I got 2 turns in on the mountain and went 0-80 in half a second," she wrote. "My knees about the size of an elephants foot. But I’m ok. Just want to say a HUGE thanks to the ski patrol at Beaver Creek up here. They were amazing and they carried me down the mountain and took great care of me. The Black Sabbath frontman and legendary rocker took to Instagram in October 2018 to show a photo of himself in the hospital, looking very pained, with a bandage wrapped around almost all of his hand. "I cant wait to get out of here tomorrow, thank you to all of the wonderful Doctors and Nurses taking care of me," Osbourne captioned the photo. Osbourne's reps shared a previous pic of his bandaged hand and announced that the planned concert that night at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, had to be postponed. "[The] singer and songwriter is being treated for an infection, which required surgery on his hand this morning," the caption read. "[He] will spend a couple of days at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles where he’ll remain under doctor’s care as they monitor the infection." A few days after the surgery, Osbourne was still in the hospital undergoing treatment for multiple infections and all four remaining stops on his No More Tours 2 tour had been postponed.

 

The Vice Principals star had to go to the hospital in March 2018, and she took to Instagram to share a health update with her fans. "I'M FINE! This is just my vibe, guys!" she captioned a photo of herself sitting on a hospital bed and resting her head in her hand. "Gonna tell you the whole story on this week's @nodocspodcast but spent last night at Cedars after I couldn't sleep because it felt like there were shards of glass in both my eyes. I have Photo Keratitis from bright lights/sun exposure! WHO EVEN KNEW THAT WAS A THING?"

The 47-year-old actor-director took to Instagram shortly after midnight on February 2018 to update his fans about his massive heart attack. Smith snapped a selfie from his hospital bed, showing the various tubes and wires monitoring his heath, and revealed, "The Doctor who saved my life told me I had 100% blockage of my LAD artery (aka 'the Widow-Maker')," he wrote. "If I hadn’t canceled show 2 to go to the hospital, I would’ve died tonight. But for now, I’m still above ground!"

In November 2017, the former E! News host shared an Instagram video of herself in the hospital being fed by a friend just 24 hours she had undergone brain surgery. Menounos was diagnosed with a meningioma brain tumor in February 2017, and in June, she had a seven-hour surgery to remove the tumor, which luckily was benign. "This video was taken 24 hours after my brain surgery. I still can’t believe that you can eat and speak normally so soon after. It was hard to keep my eyes open bc i was seeing double at this point," she wrote alongside the clip.

Mother Mosnter took to Instagram in September 2017 to share the news that she was suffering from severe physical pain and would have to withdraw from performing in Rock in Rio. Brazil, I'm devastated that I'm not well enough to come to Rock In Rio," she wrote. "I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now. I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon. ??I'm so sorry, and I love you so much. ?." In a second post, she further explained what landed her in the ER alongside a photo of her Rio tattoo, writing, "I was taken to the hospital, it is not simply hip pain or wear and tear from the road, I am in severe pain. But am in good hands w/ the very best doctors. Please don't forget my love for you. ? Remember years ago when I tattooed Rio on my neck, the tattoo was written by children in the favelas. ??R✝️O You hold a special place in my heart I love you."

The Wrestler star shared a photo of his recovery process following getting a procedure on his face in October 2017. "Moments after nose surgery with Dr. Dhir," he wrote. "Now I am 'pretty again' (lol)...one more to go. I don't know what day it is, don't even realize operation is over."

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star took to Instagram to share a handful of photos of her lying in a hospital bed and with an IV in May 2017. Jayne didn't compete in the Dancing With the Stars finale because she was suffering from an alleged injury that happened during her time on the reality dance competition show. According to E!, the injury happened while she was competing, but the singer never talked about it "because she didn't want sympathy​." Jayne was partnered up with Gleb Savchenko and they were eliminated in April.

The DWTS judge found herself in the hospital in April 2017, which she said on Instagram was due to an "iron deficiency. "Anemia strikes again... #tuesdayselfie #beenworkingtoohard lately #GratefulForTheSolutions #happyhealthytuesdayall ??," she captioned a pic of an IV in her arm.

The Dancing With the Stars pro shared a selfie from a hospital bed in Ashtabula, Ohio, in March 2017, where he was dressed in a surgical gown and had an IV infusion on his hand. "Gettin' un-broken," he captioned the photo, along with the hashtag "#SeedsOrthopaedics."

Can't nobody hold him down! The hip-hop mogul revealed in February 2017 that he had undergone his third and final knee surgery in under a year. "They said I'd never run again," he shared in one of his Instagram captions. "Third time's a charm!!! #Rebirth, don't take the simple things in life for granted."

The Between star snapped this playful pic to show fans that she was doing OK after a trip to the hospital in September 2016. McCurdy didn't reveal what caused the trip to the ER but she did joke in the caption, "New photoshoot for Vogue."

The Girls star joked that she does "my own stunts" as she shared a pic of her arm wrapped in a sling in July 2016. Dunham followed it up with a similar photo, explaining how the incident actually happened. "But seriously I tripped over my flip-flop," she explained. "Thank you to the amazing team at Lenox Hill who X-rayed me, determined it was just a stupid sprain and sent me back to work, intact but for my pride."

The celeb chef shared a snap from his hospital bed in May 2016. "Surgery went well, thank you all for your support and kind messages," he wrote. "Obviously upset I can't play this weekend #socceraid and Ironman for #gosh #G&TFoundation next weekend in Saffs. I'm not good at lying down. Now I've got no choice, need to sit still!!!! The Modern Family star shared this close-up to Instagram in December 2015, which showed the large bandage he had to wear on his cheek after having an operation to remove a melanoma spot on his face. After sharing with her Instagram followers that she had suffered a "mini stroke," the Real Housewives of Atlanta selfie posted another selfie in September 2015 that revealed she was back in the hospital. "Going in for one more procedure, things are looking up! don't let the oxygen scare you its just protocol," she wrote. "I wanted THANK all of you for the love! I feel so overwhelmed with all the texts, comments etc. I'm so grateful to have all of you! #TheyDontCallMeToughieForNothing."

The "Unforgettable" rapper took to Instagram in November 2019 to thanks fans for their support following his hospital stay. A source told ET that the performer had recently been in four countries in six days and that he was suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, an irregular heart rate and severe stomach pains. "Thank you Everyone for all of the prayers, love and support. I’m finally out of ICU and am getting better one day at a time !!! #Montana," he captioned a pic from the hospital. TMZ previously reported that Montana was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after suffering from cardiac issues and dealing with painful nausea. At the time, a rep for the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department told ET that deputies initially responded to a robbery at a home in Calabasas, California, that was occupied by Montana, but that there was no evidence of a robbery found. After they arrived, however, deputies noticed that Montana was having medical issues and called the paramedics. The rapper was then transported to a local hospital. Sources told TMZ that Montana was suffering from an elevated heart rate and stomach pains and that it could have been a result of eating contaminated food.

The supermodel got a black eye from trying to save a bird while vacationing in South Florida in April 2015. She revealed on Instagram that she had to go to a hospital in Miami for cat scans and stitches.
