PICS: ET's New Music Tuesday!
Check out some of this week's new music releases that are available today!
The Music of 'Nashville' Original Soundtrack Season 1 Volume 1
Fans of the ABC drama have been singing along with the show, but now they can take home the hits with The Music of Nashville the Original Soundtrack Season 1 Volume 1. The soundtrack features songs performed by the cast including the standout hit Telescope sung by Hayden Panettiere. The tracks have been popping up on iTunes charts, and stay true to the country roots that made Nashville a center for music.
Austin Mahone New Single 'Say You're Just A Friend' Featuring Flo Rida
With over 90 million views on Youtube, more than 1.2 million followers on Twitter 16-year-old Austin Mahone is gaining a strong fan base every day with his smooth vocals and charming looks. Often compared to Justin Bieber, Austin found fame through YouTube by posting his videos every week for his fans, known as the "Mahomies," to watch. Now Austin has been signed to Chase Records and just released a new pop single Say You're Just a Friend featuring Flo Rida. The single's catchy hooks will have the crowds singing when he joins multi-Grammy Award winner Taylor Swift for her RED Tour next year.
Steve Aoki EP 'It's The End of the World as We Know It'
Fresh off his Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album, Steve Aoki is treating his fans with his new EP, It's the End of the World as We Know It. The EP features some of EDM's hottest acts My Name is Kay, Dan Sena & Miss Palmer, and Rune RK. Aoki doesn't miss a beat with these new tracks that will keep the party going this holiday season.
The Game 'Jesus Piece'
The Game just released his first concept album, Jesus Piece, out today. For his first concept album Game released the lead single, Celebration, which samples Bone Thugs-n-Harmony's hit 1st of the Month, and recently released a remix of the track featuring the group. The album features collaborations with Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Kanye West and literally the who's who of hip-hop. Though the album cover art sparked some controversy when it featured an image of Jesus wearing gang related items, the theme of the album is much more powerful, pondering whether someone could live the gangster life but still have a relationship with God. This is a thought provoking album, so fans that have been waiting to hear this side of the MC will be happily surprised.
Boys Like Girls 'Crazy World'
Columbia Records
Fans were teased when they released their Crazy World EP earlier this year, and now the ladies will be swooning after they listen to Boys Like Girls' long-awaited third studio album, Crazy World. Singles like Leaving California and the bands lead single, Be Your Everything, display their ability to make their fans experience love, heartbreak, and happiness all in one track. The band's lead singer, songwriter, guitarist, and heartthrob Martin Johnson produced the album and says that he wanted listeners to "step aside in this Crazy World and experience the things that truly matter."
Lifehouse 'Almeria'
It is hard to believe that it's been over ten years since Lifehouse came onto the scene with their hit single Hanging by a Moment, and now the LA rock band is releasing their sixth studio album Almeria. Unlike past albums, Almeria is probably the band's most daring and creative project ever. The track Between the Raindrops featuring Natasha Bedingfield showcases the bands growth throughout the years by exploring a more raw approach both musically and lyrically giving the album an underground rock feel to it without losing the sensibility to their work that made us fall in love with them in the first place.
Big Boi 'Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors'
Big Boi's long-awaited sophomore solo album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors has finally arrived. After garnering critical acclaim with his first solo album, Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty in 2010, people were beginning to wonder when the rapper would return. His first single, Mama Told Me featuring Kelly Rowland, is gaining lots of buzz with its standout '80s funk style which reminds me of Outkast's 2003 Grammy Award winning album, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. With the MC's floating verses and catchy hooks, this album is sure to please new and old fans.
Green Day 'Tre!'
First they released Uno! -- fused with power pop tracks; then Dos! -- a throwback to their garage band roots; and now Tre! -- the final part to Green Day's trilogy -- is out. This album varies from the previous two albums, having a looser pop feel to the tracks, much like the band's 2000 album, Warning. According to lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, the final album is supposed to be "Epic" so we will let the fans decide if this will go on to be Green Day's best album yet.
Bruno Mars 'Unorthodox Jukebox'
After the massive success of his debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans, Bruno is back with his sophomore album Unorthodox Jukebox. Having sold more than 45 million singles worldwide, Mars knows how to get addictive pop hooks into our heads, and with the first single, Locked out of Heaven, already climbing the Billboard Hot 100 charts, I have no doubt this album will be a No. 1 hit for the Grammy Award winner. For all the major Mars fans out there, check out the exclusive Target edition of the album, which includes Old & Crazy (an original duet with Grammy Award winner Esperanza Spalding), a remix of Locked out of Heaven featuring Major Lazer and demo versions of some of the album tracks. Watch Bruno celebrate his album release with a special performance of Locked out of Heaven tonight on MTV.
