Good news for those of you loving Kendrick's killer look -- she adored it so much, you just might see it again! "After the shoot she kept all the hair and make-up on and had me text her photos from the shoot so she could show her [friends]," Aguiar says. "She was so excited to let them see how 'grown up' she could look."

Anna was the perfect covergirl to participate in this total transition because she is unexpected, Aguiar says. "She has a beauty that is not cookie-cutter and her style is unique. She has a commanding presence that draws you in."

And the Pitch Perfect star was totally game to try a new look. "It was so much fun to transform Anna for the shoot," he says. "We talked about how we didn't want her to act like a model but to take on a role of a glamorous seductress with a dark side; this allowed her to become a character and let a side of herself out that we don't get to see."

It's all about the new with September's issue of Manhattan -- Cristina Greeven Cuomo is the new Editor in Chief of Manhattan Magazine, while James Aguiar been appointed as the National Fashion Director for all Modern Luxury Magazines. And for their first issue, Manhattan is presenting a brand new Anna Kendrick to the world!

"The shoot with Anna was the jump-off for the new fashion and style direction for the brand," Aguiar tells ETonline. "We are focusing on elevating and expanding our fashion coverage. I wanted to take it out of a studio and put it in an unexpected environment -- like a rooftop. I love the juxtaposition of her in an Etro dress on a roof with the toughness of the surroundings behind her."
