Knightley has often spoken of not being terribly pleased with her skinny frame, telling British Elle, "I'm trying to go, F*** it' and have bowls of pasta or whatever makes me happy." But the one thing she wants to make sure fans know is that she does not have an eating disorder. "I had no idea that I was (anorexic)," she says of tabloid reports. "But I'm quite sure I don't have it."

Rumors floated back in 2003 that Lara Flynn Boyle was actually losing work because of her svelte frame. "I've taken a beating for very thin," she says.
Hilary Duff

In 2007, Hilary Duff told Cosmo Girl, "I have the same insecurities about my body that every girl has and I made a conscious choice to get in shape. I've always been a junk food eater, but I started paying more attention to what I put in my body and cut out foods like pizza, chicken fingers, and French fries. Seeing how well it worked motivated me to keep going, but I hit a period when I got too skinny. I wasn't too obsessed with it, but I did learn that there have to be days when you just don't think about it."

After Mean Girls became a big hit, Lindsay Lohan's body became smaller and smaller. An effect she now admits was the result of bulimia. The breaking point for her was during the week she hosted Saturday Night Live in 2005. "They sat me down literally before I was going to do the show, and they said, 'You need to take care of yourself. We care about you too much, and we've seen too many people do this,' and I just started bawling. I knew I had a problem and I couldn't admit it."

After giving birth to daughter Stella in 2008, Spelling dropped 50 pounds -- which even she admits was too much. "I was sick for months and had a hard time eating, so I was losing weight. I did look too thin. Seeing those bones I was scared. I did look too thin." However, what really hurt her feelings was the public's reaction. "You know, they understand that it hurts to call people overweight, but when you call someone underweight it's just as horrible. It really knocks down your self-confidence."

After her 2010 stint on Dancing with the Stars, the ESPN reporter said, "I'm a little more thin right now than I'd like to be. I would like to put on a couple pounds."
Ginnifer Goodwin

The Big Love star came under fire after recently revealing she started dieting at age nine. A lifelong Weight Watchers devotee, Goodwin admits that her "trouble zones" are her hips and thighs. "Even at my crazy skinniest, where I've looked at myself and been like: 'Ginny, you're too skinny', those are still there. And I think it might be...permanent?"

After some shockingly skinny photos of the singer emerged in 2009, she told Grazia magazine, "'I know I've got too skinny. I know I need to sort it out. I am going to put on 15lbs in one month."

The perpetually skinny star caused a minor stir in 2007 when she was snapped by photographers buying controversial diet book, Skinny Bitch. Three years later she banned size zero models from her BMW Fashion Week runway show, but continues to tell her detractors, "just because you're thin it doesn't mean you have an eating disorder."

The teen dream admits that her downsized frame became a problem when time came to film Transformers 2. "I'd lost a lot of weight and got really scrawny but I was told I had to put on a size for Transformers because Michael [Bay, the director] doesn't like skinny girls," she said.
Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson lost over 50 pounds on Weight Watchers, but fans are worried that she's gone a little too far. A fear that her fiance David Otunga shares. "I haven't actually caught up with how I look. Some people don't like it so much and tell me to stop. My fiance tells me not to lose more," she said.
Michelle Williams

The Destiny's Child singer appeared on British ballroom competition Strictly Come Dancing in 2010, and much like the counterparts on its American version (Dancing with the Stars), Williams lost a lot of weight. Too much, according to her. "I was hoping not to lose too much weight (on Strictly Come Dancing) ... but yes, I'm too skinny. I've always been like that. Growing up, I was so skinny - I was always skinny, skinny, skinny."
Nicole Richie

In 2006, Richie told Vanity Fair, "I know I'm too thin right now, so I wouldn't want any young girl looking at me and saying, 'That's what I want to look like.'"
Natalie Portman & Mila Kunis

Fox Searchlight Pictures
To play ballerinas in the Oscar winning Black Swan, both Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis had to drastically slim down. An undertaking they didn't care for. "It was more difficult than anything I've ever experienced before," Portman said, while Kunis added, "I had no shape, no boobs, no ass. All you saw was bone. I was like, This looks gross."
Bethenny Frankel

Bethenny Frankel: wife, mother, reality star and successful owner of the brand, Skinny Girl. But lately she's been taking that name too seriously as Frankel tells Life & Style Magazine, "I’m too thin. Because I’m so busy, I’m not always hungry. I have to make myself eat more because of my busy schedule."
But Frankel isn't the first Hollywood lady to criticize her own frail figure. Here's a run-down of the other stars who've taken a look in the mirror and thought, "Oh man, I should eat something."
