DVF's Surprising Wrap Dress Fans
Diane von Furstenberg's highly anticipated "Journey of a Dress" exhibition launched with a star-studded kick-off party in Los Angeles Friday, and it turns out the legendary designer has more than a few surprising admirers!
Among them?
New Late Night host Seth Meyers.
"We love DVF, and we're very excited to be here to support her," Meyers, who walked the red carpet with his wife Alexi Ashe, told ET. "Obviously the wrap dress has quite a long history, and we're very happy to be part of this new era ... I do know a lot about it, yeah," he laughed.
Dallas star Jesse Metcalfe also called himself a big fan of von Furstenberg.
"She's really an amazing lady, she's incredibly charming," he said. "We got the opportunity to spend some time with her in Dallas when she had a book launch out there at one of her stores in Highland Park, and she's a really, really exceptional woman."
Marking the 40th anniversary of the wrap dress, the Journey of a Dress exhibition features a retrospective of vintage and contemporary DVF designs, chronicling the iconic style across four decades -- from the first sample, to a world-renowned symbol of power and freedom for entire generations of women.
"It's amazing to be so relevant 40 years later, on a dress that we've all worn off and on," Molly Sims said. "My mother has worn it, my niece and my girlfriends, and it's interesting that it looks good on everyone. That's why it's called the wrap dress, because it's so flattering!"
