Dua Lipa opens up to ET at the 29th Critics Choice Awards about her upcoming projects.
Dua Lipa is booked and busy.
The singer, alongside songwriter Caroline Ailin, spoke with ET’s Deidre Behar at Sunday’s Critics Choice Awards and gave fans a glimpse into her upcoming projects, including new music.
"It feels so good, and I think the best part about it is that you get to do it with your friends. I’m happy to be here with Caroline, so it feels really lovely," expressed Dua.
Nominated for Best Song for Barbie's "Dance the Night," Dua graced the event in a stunning cherry red cloquet strapless column dress by Prada. The gown showcased a captivating three-dimensional effect and was elegantly complemented by a silver brushed leather clutch and matching sandals. She accessorized the look with Tiffany & Co. jewels.
During the interview, Dua also discussed her ever-changing hair colors, from blonde to brunette and now red. When asked if these choices were inspired by musical eras, Dua explained, "It’s not something that I think about too much. It was just kind of on the fly with the red hair. I said it in the studio with Caroline, I was like, 'I keep seeing the color red when I listen to the new songs, I’m going to dye my hair.' And that’s it, mainly impulse."
Fans eagerly awaiting new music from the artist got a sneak peek into what's coming. Dua shared insights into her upcoming album, stating, "Yeah, I think Houdini is very much a dancy, textured introduction to the album for sure. I think we have a lot of fun things coming up, very excited."
In addition to her music endeavors, Dua has been making waves in the entertainment industry. Having written music for Barbie and even having a cameo in the film, she is also set to appear in the upcoming movie Argylle, scheduled for release next month.
When asked if acting is her current priority, Dua emphasized, "Music is always the priority. I’m super grateful for the experiences I’ve had and to get to work with incredible directors and actors. It's just been wonderful, so I’m very excited about Argylle, which comes out very soon, but yeah, music first. Music is my baby."
Describing the new era of Dua, the singer playfully stated, "It’s red hot."
As for her life at the moment, she simply said, "Perfect."
