Selena appears to have alluded to the song title nearly two years ago.
Selena Gomez might have been humming Taylor Swift's new song, "ME!", years ago.
After the highly anticipated single was released, some Swifties were quick to recall a post that Gomez shared on Instagram in honor of Swift's birthday on Dec. 13, 2017. In the caption of a video of the friends goofing off, Gomez includes the name of Swift's newest tune, punctuation and capitalization included.
"I’m glad you were born. You write all the thoughts some aren’t able to articulate. (ME!)," she wrote. "Thank you for giving a voice to this world that is authentic and inspiring. I wish some knew how big your heart actually is.. it’s fierce, bold and freaking wild with light. I’m glad you protect that. Love you @taylorswift."
Cut to present day, in a YouTube chat, Swift all but confirmed that Gomez hears most of her music ahead of time. "YES, Selena has heard most of the new album, she is the keeper of secrets and queen of my heart," read the message from Swift's official Vevo account.
While Swift was dropping a new single this week, Gomez was making a rare public appearance at the WE Day California event. The 26-year-old singer spoke with ET's Katie Krause about her dear friend's new music and how fans will not be disappointed.
"Oh my goodness, yeah, it's amazing," she exclaimed of what Swift has in store for her listeners. "You just wait."
