Denise Richards spoke to Bethenny Frankel on her podcast and addressed rumors surrounding her surprise return to the reality show.
Denise Richards recently addressed rumors and speculation surrounding her surprise return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for its 13th season.
Denise, 52, who had previously announced her departure from the series in September 2020 after two seasons, made an unexpected comeback, sparking intrigue among fans.
During a recent episode of the Just B with Bethenny Frankel podcast, Denise revealed that her attendance at Kyle Richards' "weed party" was at the request of Garcelle Beauvais.
"I was asked by Garcelle, 'Hey, would you go to a dinner or lunch or something?' And I said, 'You know what? If you're there, I'll go and do it,'" she explained.
However, Denise's behavior at the dinner, particularly her confrontation with Erika Girardi, left viewers puzzled and led to speculation that she might have been intoxicated.
Denise clarified that she doesn't consume weed or edibles due to their negative effects on her body. She admitted to trying weed twice but not enjoying it. Regarding the dinner, she mentioned feeling progressively worse, attributing it to sickness and not feeling well.
"I came home, and Aaron [Phypers, Denise's husband] was like, 'What is wrong with you?' And I go, 'I don't know.' I've never been like that," she recalled. Denise insisted she only had one drink because she was nervous about seeing the other women.
When asked if she said anything regrettable during her return, Denise shared that she hasn't watched the episode because she believes she may have made a fool of herself, saying, "I won't even watch it because I'm sure I obviously made an a** out of myself. So I was like, why the hell am I going to watch myself like that?"
Regarding her confrontation with Erika, Denise explained that she was trying to understand why Erika had been "such an a**hole" to her throughout the season.
Denise also mentioned taking three COVID tests before attending the gathering, all of which came back negative. She speculated about a possible mix-up in the meal or water during the event. Despite the confusion, Denise expressed that her return had been unplanned, but fun, emphasizing her genuine friendship with Garcelle.
Denise initially joined RHOBH in season 9 in 2019 but left after two seasons.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
