Demi Lovato’s Ex-Fiance Max Ehrich Reacts to Her Engagement to Jutes

Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich called off their brief engagement in 2020.

Demi Lovato's ex-fiancé, Max Ehrich, knows that she has found her happy ending!

Following the news of Lovato's engagement to singer Jordan "Jutes" Lutes over the weekend, social media was flooded with fake reactions from Ehrich, some which saw him crying and reacting negatively to the news. On Wednesday, the 32-year-old actor took to his official Instagram to shut down the fake reports.

"I am aware of the fake pages that were created to post fabricated and cruel messages about a truly joyful occasion in Demi's life," Ehrich wrote on his Instagram Story. "A moment that should only be celebrated. That chapter in our shared lives was closed peacefully and privately a long time ago."

The Young and The Restless actor went on to share that he has nothing but support for his ex and her new fiancé.

"I only want the best for everyone and from the bottom of my heart I truly wish them a lifetime of peace and happiness," he wrote. "I ask respectfully to be removed from this narrative and for the fake accounts and posts to cease having any relevance. Thank you and God bless."

Lovato and Ehrich became engaged in 2020, four months after they confirmed their whirlwind romance. The same year, the 31-year-old "Tell Me You Love Me" singer and the actor announced their split.

At the time, a source told ET that the distance became to much for the pair, who each returned to their respective jobs. "Demi and Max’s relationship shifted once the couple got back to work and were separated," the source said at the time. "Max is in Atlanta working on set and Demi is in L.A. The couple is used to being together and the separation made [them] realize they were moving too fast."

In August 2022, Lovato and Jutes went public with their relationship. Over the weekend, ET confirmed that the pair got engaged. Jutes -- who met Lovato during a writing session for her song, "Substance" -- popped the question at Craig's in Los Angeles with a pear-shaped sparkler designed by Material Good. After the "Tell Me You Love Me" singer said yes, the pair celebrated with family and close friends.

On Sunday, Lovato took to Instagram to celebrate the occasion and give the world a look at her ring.

"I’m still speechless. last night was the best night of my life and I can’t believe I get to marry the love of my life @jutesmusic," she wrote on Instagram. "My love, I’m beyond excited to marry you.. every day I’ve spent with you has been a dream come true and I can’t wait to love and cherish you forever. Here’s to the rest of our lives. I love you baby 🥰 📸."

A source told ET that the "Confident" singer is feeling "elated" since her engagement.

"This is the first healthy, grounding, and supportive relationship that she has been in, in a long time," said the source. "She recognizes that and appreciates where she is at in her life and where they are as a couple."
