'Death By Fame' Season 2 Explores James Brown's Mysterious Death (Exclusive)

'Death By Fame' season 2 premieres Jan. 22 on ID.

Death By Fame is returning for a groundbreaking second season!

The ID original series explores the rise, fall, deaths and murders of some of Hollywood's most promising stars -- who paid the ultimate price for fame.

"A Hollywood hopeful is a wannabe. But most people, this is a fact, don't make it big in Hollywood," criminal trial attorney Sara Azari says as the trailer begins, while images of the crime scenes flash across the screen.

One of the most high-profile cases explored during this season is the 2006 death of the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, and the murder of his son-in-law, Darren Lumar, who was shot and killed two years later.

The episode will feature an interview with Brown's daughter.

"After my dad passed, it just all fell apart," she says.

Death By Fame will also tell the stories of Tara Correa-McMullen, an actress on Judging Amy, whose romance with the wrong person turned deadly; Blake Leibel, an intern to comedian Jim Jefferies who was convicted of murder; Loredana Mesci, a lawyer turned legal reality TV star, who became the victim of a stabbing; and Joseph Son, who played the role of the villain in Austin Powers, and other films, whose DNA was connected to a cold case.

The series will also highlight the unsolved murder of Jason Mizell aka Run-D.M.C's Jam Master Jay, who was shot to death inside of his Queens, New York, recording studio.

Death By Fame season 2 premieres on ID Jan. 22 at 9 p.m.
