The former soccer pro said he gets ‘very enthusiastic’ watching his 6-year-old daughter on the field.

David Beckham’s love of soccer hasn’t translated to all of his four children.

The 43-year-old athlete -- who retired from pro soccer in 2013 -- opens up on Friday’s episode of The Graham Norton Show about his daughter, Harper, 6, and sons, Brooklyn, 19, Romeo, 15, and Cruz, 13.

“Harper is playing [soccer] every Sunday and loves it,” he says of the sport. “The boys don’t play and it’s heartbreaking. They have a talent, but it’s down to Harper now.”

David is a regular soccer dad, getting very passionate at his little girl’s games.

“I get very enthusiastic when watching her,” he admits. “The other day a boy took her down and I had to think how to react with all the other parents watching me. Do I act like a UNICEF Ambassador or do I act like Harper’s daddy? In the end, I let it go!”

After spending years in the U.S., David is now ready to keep roots in England. “I’ll spend a lot of time there, but the kids and Victoria are here,” he says of his London-based family.

David was recently treated to a very special birthday surprise in early May when his wife, Victoria Beckham, coordinated his eldest son, Brooklyn, to fly in for the big day, which caught the athlete totally off guard. His sweet reaction was captured on Victoria’s Instagram.
