The 'Merrily We Roll Along' actress gave her famous co-stars big roles in her nuptials.
It's a wedding! Merrily We Roll Along actress Lindsay Mendez tied the knot with J. Alex Brinson, and two of her famous co-stars had special roles in the ceremony.
For the intimate nuptials in New York City, Jonathan Groff and Daniel Radcliffe stood beside the bride and groom as they said their I dos. In clips shared by guests at the wedding, Groff is situated between the bride and groom, officiating the ceremony.
Radcliffe also played a special part. After being summoned to step up by Groff, the Harry Potter star served as the ring bearer and handed Mendez and Brinson their wedding bands.
Mendez's 3-year-old daughter, Lucy -- whom she welcomed in a previous relationship -- stood beside her mother as the flower girl.
Mendez, 41, and Brinson, 38, -- who starred alongside each other on All Rise -- announced their engagement on Christmas Day 2023. The wedding comes a month after the pair shared the news that they were expecting their first child together.
In March, Mendez shared a photo of four sets of matching colorful shoes for her, Brinson and Lucy lined up on piano keys. At the end of the row, was a pair of yellow crochet booties for the new baby.
"Our family band is expanding! And we are bursting with joy! J and I can’t wait to make Lucy a big sister and welcome our new baby this fall," she wrote. "I’m also so grateful for the unrelenting support of my @merrilyonbway producers and company. Together, they have made it so that I can happily work safely, all while growing this true Broadway baby. So, I will be continuing with the show, and finish the run on July 7th with my incredible cast. Come see (both) of us at the Hudson!"
In April while on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Mendez spoke about her little Broadway baby and the special connection it will have to her Merrily We Roll Along co-stars.
"This is my farewell to leather for a while," she quipped as the pointed at her baby bump. "I keep thinking they're gonna know Uncle Dan and Uncle Jon's voices, they're gonna know a [Stephen] Sondheim score when they come out of the womb. It's pretty cool."
