Markle's transition to royal life somewhat mirrors what Matt Smith goes through on the regal Netflix drama.
Matt Smith knows what Meghan Markle is going through... sort of.
The Crown star, who plays a Greek foreigner who marries into the royal family on the regal Netflix drama, was joined by co-star Claire Foy on at EW Spotlight hosted by SiriusXM’s Jessica Shaw -- airing Thursday, Dec. 7 on SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly radio show -- where they discussed how the former Suits actress' life could change as she marries Prince Harry and joins the monarchy.
"Part of me does go, 'Oh, my God, you're gonna lose your life as you know it,'" Smith explains. "She's gonna be one of the most famous people in the world for the rest of her life. Her children will be the most famous children."
"She's gonna have to wait behind those doors and be part of the ballet," he added. "That's such a difficult world to entertain, and live in, and be normal in. She's been a normal person up to this point."

During the interview, Foy also opened up about the news of Olivia Coleman joining the show in season three, taking over her role as Queen Elizabeth II at a later point in her life.
"It's quite daunting joining something that has been a success, and it's such a big character ... I think she relishes that challenge," Foy shared.
