Amid his romance with Jennifer Hudson, Common has made a headline-making love confession.
Common fans, come close -- because you're going to want to hear this.
The rapper made an eyebrow-raising declaration about his famous girlfriend, Jennifer Hudson, during a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club. The two Oscar winners confirmed their relationship in January after months of speculation and now, he's answered another big question about his future with the multi-talented talk show host.
After being asked about tapping into his native Chicago energy for his new album, The Auditorium, Vol. 1, the star explained that he recharged himself by getting to spend time back home. Co-host Charlamagne tha God pointed out that it sounded like the performer might get married and was "building a real foundation."
"With all due respect to all the women I've dated... it's all love, but this is a really healthy and beautiful relationship," he said, seemingly referencing Hudson without naming her.
Common also noted that it's a different kind of connection with someone who's from the same place as you as Hudson was also born and raised in Chicago. He also recalled Hudson buying ice cream for people on the set of the movie they co-starred in, Breathe, pointing out that he likes people who treat others well.
"If I'm going to get married, it's to her," he said. "That's simple as that."
This is not the first time the performer has addressed the topic of marriage during his relationship with the Dreamgirls alum. During an appearance on Today, Hoda Kotb asked Common if he is the marrying type and if this relationship is "the one."
"I feel like I have grown and the work that I've done on myself has allowed me to see that I am a marrying type," the And Then We Rise author shared. "I'm capable and have the capacity. At some point in my life I may want to do that. I would know when the right time is and I think, for me, everything is divine, like, I work from that discernment that when God speaks into your stomach and you feel it in your heart and your spirit, so when I will feel that, I will communicate that with that person and if she's feeling that, then why not?"
Neither Common nor Hudson have been married before. He shares a daughter with ex Kim Jones while Hudson welcomed her son with ex-fiancé David Otunga.
