The 'Weekend Update' anchor made the revelation during a recent podcast appearance.
Colin Jost says there is one celebrity guest who wows him every time they come to host Saturday Night Live.
During a recent appearance on the Table for Two with Bruce Bozzi podcast -- produced by iHeartPodcasts and Air Mail -- the 41-year-old "Weekend Update" anchor shared that four-time host Adam Driver is one person whose name comes to mind when he's thinking of elite guest hosts.
"Adam Driver is especially good at the table read," Jost said of the Marriage Story star. "He makes a choice for all those pieces – and an interesting choice -- in the same way that Will Ferrell does."
Jost added of Ferrell, 56, a former SNL cast member, "Obviously he knows it -- learned [it] a whole other way."
It should be as no surprise to fans that Driver, 40, is a natural on a show like Saturday Night Live as the actor got his first big break on HBO's hit comedy Girls alongside Lena Dunham and Allison Williams. For that show, he received three Primetime Emmy noms for his role as Adam Sackler, the love interest of Dunham's character.
His evident comedic chops have only further made him a favorite among fans and critics alike to take on the role of guest host on SNL. Several of Driver's most iconic skits from the show, including "Career Day" and "Star Wars Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base," have racked up more than 20 million views apiece on YouTube.
In 2020, Driver was even honored by the Television Academy with an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his hosting gig which came just weeks after the release of Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, in which he plays Kylo Ren.
Driver most recently hosted the show in December with musical guest Olivia Rodrigo as he was promoting Michael Mann's Ferrari. The episode was the seventh of the season, which started amid the historic SAG-AFTRA strike and just weeks after the Writers Guild of America's strike came to a close.
In October 2023, ET spoke with Jost's wife, actress Scarlett Johansson, who shared that while she was excited for her hubby to get back to work on season 49 of the comedy variety series, it would take some getting used to, especially with their 2-year-old son, Cosmo.
"I'm really excited for all the writers and all the performers at SNL. They've been like desperate to get back to work doing what they love," the Black Widow star, 39 said, referencing the 148-day WGA strike in 2023.
"It's definitely an adjustment in the household," Johansson added. "That schedule is so crazy. But it's always exciting to see those guys. They're incredible, and we need them now more than ever."
