Christina Hall's 'The Flip Off' Show With Tarek El Moussa Will Move On Without Her Ex Josh

Tarek and Heather Rae El Moussa were initially intended to go head to head with Josh and Christina Hall for their new HGTV show.

Christina Hall and Tarek El Moussa's new TV show, The Flip Off, will still move forward in spite of Christina's recently announced divorce from her husband, Josh

Just months after HGTV announced that the exes and Flip or Flop alums would reunite for a new TV show that features them going head to head with their respective spouses -- Tarek is married to Selling Sunset star Heather Rae El Moussa --  it appears things are going through some changes. Us was the first to report the news.

The show -- which will premiere in 2025, according to a previous release from the network -- was initially pitched as a competition between the married couples to "see who can find, buy, renovate, and flip a house for the biggest financial gain, and the chance at bragging rights."

According to one person close to The Flip Off production, the show only recently started filming scenes "a few weeks ago" and the team behind the series is still "figuring out what the plan is moving forward" without her real estate agent hubby, 43, in the picture.

The split between the HGTV host, 41, and her estranged husband comes three years into their whirlwind romance. Divorce filings list the couple's date of separation as July 8 and the pair have cited irreconcilable differences as the cause for separation.

Christina and Josh began dating in 2021 amid her high-profile and tumultuous divorce from Ant Anstead, with whom she shares one son, Hudson, 4. She also shares two older children, 13-year-old Taylor and 8-year-old Brayden, with Tarek, 42.

Tarek and Christine were married in 2009 and publicly split in 2016, finalizing their divorce two years later. Since then, he has moved on with Heather, 36. They wed in 2021 and in February 2023, welcomed a son of their own, Tristan.

For three of the four key The Flip Off players, however, the show must go on. The series -- however it will end up looking after restructuring -- comes three years after Flip or Flop ended its 10-season run for the former couple to focus on their personal lives and individual shows.

At the time, the HGTV personalities were starring in Flipping 101 with Tarek El Moussa and Christina on the Coast, respectively. Tarek's show wrapped its third season in December while Christina recently finished shooting a new season of Christina in the Country and received a season 4 renewal for Christina on the Coast. Additionally, Tarek and Heather, 36, have a show called The Flipping El Moussas which was also recently renewed for another season.

When the couple made the decision to end their show back in 2022, Christina indicated that after dozens of renovations and properties sold together, both married and separated, it was time to step away in order to rediscover her love of flipping on her own.

"I have something I want to talk to you about," Christina -- who was engaged to Josh at the time -- told Tarek. "I feel like it's not really fair to you or myself to continue house flipping with you."

"Have you really thought about this?" he asked her in one of the final episodes of the show.

"I've thought about it a lot," she replied. "I thought about it more on the last trip to Tennessee and I think it's what's best. I can't be at these houses for you like I should. It's been an amazing run. There's been ups and downs, but it's mostly been fun."

"I do wish her the best of luck, but, you know, sometimes in life change can be good for everybody," Tarek later said in a confessional.
