On Monday, the 'DWTS' star announced the death of her father earlier this month and shared an emotional message and childhood photo to Instagram.
Cheryl Burke shared some sad news on Monday when she opened up to her fans about why she'd taken a break from social media and the public spotlight in recent weeks.
The Dancing With the Stars pro took to Instagram to announce the death of her father, Stephen Louis Burke, who died earlier this month.
"Dad, if I had one more chance to have you here with me today, I would do things differently," Burke captioned a heartbreaking throwback photo from her childhood, showing her father kissing her on the head as they hugged. "Every day I would tell you how much I love you. I miss you so much already."
The 33-year-old dancer added, "Rest In Peace Stephen Louis Burke April 13, 1950 - March 9, 2018."
On March 13, four days after her father died, Burke took to Twitter to let her fans know that she would be stepping away from social media because she was "dealing with some personal things."
"Thanks for understanding and remember to tell the people who are important to you just how much you love them each and every day. Xoxo Cheryl" she expressed, without going into detail about what she was dealing with.
Our condolences go out to Burke and her family.
