The singer's bombastic number began poolside at the MGM Grand before entering the arena and taking the stage by storm.
Carrie Underwood performed her new single, "Southbound," at this year's ACM Awards on Sunday, and took full advantage of the show being in Las Vegas to deliver an unconventional set.
Underwood kicked off her number in the warm Vegas sun, performing poolside at the MGM Grand Hotel, rocking a rainbow-fringe-covered dress while surrounded by swimsuit-clad dancers and revelers.
As Underwood's performance continued, the country songstress brought the party inside the Grand Garden Arena while the cameras followed the action into the ceremony.
Underwood flawlessly belted out the single as she mingled with the star-studded audience, stopping briefly to dance next to Luke Bryan, then Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, and she finally come up to husband Mike Fisher to give him a sweet kiss before taking the stage.
Underwood never missed a beat as she commanded the stage while break dancers performed alongside her, and the prismatic color scheme of her outfit was reflected in the rainbow of neon and pastel that made up her stage decor.
ET's Nancy O'Dell caught up with the 36-year-old country singer on the red carpet before the show, where she opened up about dealing with her nerves concerning the effect on both her body and her singing voice of welcoming her baby boy, Jacob, back in January.
"My body is completely different than when it was a few months ago, and it’s always weird, kind of, to come back and [ask] ... do I still have it? Can I still sing?" Underwood said. "Because I had an obstruction in this area for nine months, and now it’s gone. And it’s an adjustment period and it’s on the early side of me."
"It’s the ACMs, I had to come. I wanted to perform," she added.
Clearly, the songstress proved she hasn't lost a step when it comes to her powerhouse presence and stunning voice.
